Where to begin?? While the location and price can't be beat, there are definite reasons for the low price. The tub faucet leaked constantly (no noise, fortunately), no full-length mirror, no hot water in the sink (I didn't even try the tub), TV didn't work (batteries needed in the remote) and all of the furnishings, curtains, and carpets were well-worn and tired. Compliments on the clean bedding and towels, pretty comfortable bed, and numbers of outlets for devices and electricals. The staff were mostly friendly and helpful. Conveniently located to many restaurants, CVS, Trader Joe's, public transportation.

Filthy, horrible rooms Absolute garbage hotel. Hair, mold, stains, they've got it all. It's not just one room either, both rooms had these issues (see the photos). They posted photos online that make it look decent, then they just never cleaned the rooms after that. There is a dumpster in front the entrance. And not just like 100 ft in front of the entrance, it's like 10 feet in front so that you walk past it as you enter the building. This company should be shut down for making people stay in filth.

Needs improvements, Good if you only need a bed A friend and myself did a fun trip to Washington DC. Due to hotel costs, we decided to stay outside of Downtown DC and looked for a hotel that was in a decent area but also close to the subway. This motel was about half a mile from the Red line DC metro so it was great in terms of that. The hotel had limited parking, although we did not bring a car it looks like the hotel shares it parking lot with a restaurant next door. One benefit to our stay was we had called ahead and asked our dropping off our luggage early in the morning so that we could go sightseeing. The hotel held our bags for no additional fee ( we were given the option for a $50 early check in fee). Another plus was the “free breakfast”. We originally thought it was a sit down reayutrant (since the Mexican restaurant is connected to the hotel , but it was a bag style breakfast to take back to your room or on the go. It included a piece of fruit, a muffin, a yogurt, a mini water bottle, and a juice. For a bag breakfast, it was pretty decent and we did get it 3 days of our trip. You did have to go to the ask the front desk for the breakfast. For the room, the motto is you get what you pay for. The room was “okay” but it seemed like it was under looked in terms of cleaning. There were hooks missing from the curtains, you were unable to fully close the curtains. There were stains on them. Additionally, the air conditioning unit had a layer of dust and we found out after the fact it was controlled by a controller on the wall but it did little to cool down the room. The bathroom was very gross. There were cobwebs in the corners, the towel racks were off the wall and you could clearly see that there was supposed to be one there. The bathroom was on the smaller side, and the hair dryer was covered in dust. If you are just looking for a bed, this place is great. I you want the amenities of a vacation and a cleaner room I would not recommend. Additionally, the pool was not open. It was closed for repairs but I have seen other reviews so I question if the pool is ever open. The phone in the room was missing almost all of the buttons which made it hard to use. There is a security personnel but every-time we walked by, there had headphones in and was watching something on their phone.

Budget Hotel This hotel was fairly clean but VERY worn. Nothing really wrong. Breakfast was in a bag. The Mexican restaurant attached, Guapo's, was excellent. 1/2 mile from the metro, very walkable. Parking on site is VERY limited (only a dozen or so spaces for $20/day) There is a public parking garage nearby.

NIH Hospital stay This is a hotel that is on the National Institute of Health shuttle schedule and is mostly/ completely covered by the government insurance because of the cost of the room but BEWARE. The hospital is sketchy at best, the place is rundown, dirty, the pool is closed, trash laying around, staff is rude or questionable. We checked in around 2-3 PM and then booked another hotel room by 8 the same day because we felt unsafe. Just go right next door to the Besthesda by Hilton and pay whatever it costs. It’s worth the cost for your safety and peace of mind.
