Bad experience will not return If you want to be over charged for your stay then the Sonesta is the place for you. If you want garbage for breakfast then the Sonesta is the place for you. If you want to be lied to about why they won't provide what is advertised by Sonesta then this is the place for you. I booked a two day stay at the front desk at $ 55.00 per night plus tax for a total of $ 63.20 , total × 2= $ 126.40. After I checked out and left the property and was back on the road and checked my bank account I see a charge from Sonesta of $ 149.14 for the two day stay. Certainly not a great deal of money difference but a very petty attitude by Sonesta. After numerous calls to Sonesta and their corporate office they have refused to correct the situation leaving me to believe their actions are deliberate and intentional. If you are looking for a hotel stay in Bettendorf there are much better options available . Just up the street the Country Inn & Suites offers the same nightly rate but offers full blown hot breakfast and they have a much better attitude, better customer service.

Needs MUCH improvement I have stayed at this hotel for years. We visit family in Iowa almost 2 times a year. We almost exclusively stay at Sonesta because of the past positive experiences. In the past- we really enjoyed this hotel! This was a very sad experience. I called 2 times in advance to request a 1st floor room. They told me they would sort it out when I arrived. When I arrived- there was a line of people waiting to get their room cards. After about 20 minutes, I received my room cards - the room was on the second floor. I noticed there were numerous first floor rooms that were Unoccupied. I requested a first floor room because I knew I would be coming abs going often and in the past I really enjoyed the patio connected to the room. I requested towels 4 times. It took about 24 hours to get towels. Eventually , a nice man brought up a full set of clean towels. Throughout my visit, I noticed that trash was left all around the facility. There were many stains all over the carpet. The landscaping looks like it has not been tended to in a year. I didn’t expect it to be perfect, however- when you work hard all year and go on a summer vacation - you hope to stay in at least a somewhat attractive hotel. Sone things that really disappointed me were that almost EVERYTHING was out of order… the pool, ice machines, washer and dryer. I stayed at this hotel for 8 nights. I noticed throughout the time I was there - the cleaning staff was very friendly and worked late into the evening. I spoke to the staff several times, not once did they apologize. They just said - management is working on fixing things. If they would have simply apologized for the many things that were not going well or not working, I probably would have been less upset.

They’ll take your money and get no room. You won’t see a refund either. I attempted to stay here on 6/15. They didn’t have my room and offered me a smaller room with no compensation. I was willing to take it, and checked in. We got to the room and the water was shut off and there was no plumbing to the toilet. Just a pipe sticking out of the wall. I went back to the front desk and they cancelled my reservation as they had no other rooms. I even got a printed form of cancellation from them. I’ve reached out to booking.com and they haven’t gotten a response from the hotel. The hotel itself will not respond to me, and Sonesta corporate said, basically, too bad this is independently owned and there is nothing they can do. I still haven’t gotten my money back or even a response from the hotel. DO NOT stay here.

Extortion, Invasion of Privacy and Attempted Theft by Hotel Management Hotel Manager attempted to extort cash by charging $800 pet fee for the stay and then trying to get me to pay $400 cash instead. Hotel Employees were coming into rooms unannounced and attempting to come in the room even with the privacy notice posted and locks in place. Hotel management attempted to steal our payroll checks that were sent to the hotel. We called the front desk out on it and they denied having the parcel that was shipped there. When I got on the phone with corporate about the checks not showing even though the tracker showed they were delivered to the hotel the front desk then handed over the parcel and it had been opened. They could not provide an explanation as to why they lied or why they opened the parcel with the payroll checks. We left immediately as this was the last intolerable offense we could stand. Considered filing a complaint with the local police.
