From an average family, TERRIBLE STAY! TERRABLE!!! Hotel is old very out dated and looks to no where be in “renovation process”. Check in staff was not at the desk when I finally said hello she walked out from the office where she was on her phone. Never said oh sorry didn’t hear you or anything like that. We told her when we would be checking out and that I called for a later check out. She said umm no way that’s for Diamond Members only and “that ain’t yall”. Got keys walked out side to grab luggage walked back in like 2 minutes later and she was trying to check us in all over again like she had no clue who we were. We got up to the room and again terrible, old, out dated and NOT in a renovation process. Elevator had trash all over the floor and no cool airflow at all. Room door is so small the cart almost didn’t fit. The bathroom has absolutely no counter space, tube was gross and had old pain splatter all in it. The tube drain plugged not even connected. My family and I arrived around 8 pm no could could rest we were all up until midnight scrambling to find a better hotel to move to. My husband is in public works and he said “I have seen better abandoned drug houses than this”. Will never again stay at a Hampton Inn or Hilton hotel of any kind. If Hilton thinks for one second this is a remotely okay place to sleep the board members should come stay for a night.

Good location, but disappointing experience Supposedly being renovated, but didn’t see any work was happening. Only thing good about this place was the location. Room door wouldn’t lock from the outside, breakfast items weren’t restocked, whole building looked worn and outdated, wires hanging out in hallway. Definitely worst Hampton Inn ever stayed at.

Great people--Old property The people here are very nice and welcoming, but this property really needs updating. Carpets are worn, smelly, and old. The entire property looks sad and outdated. The beds were comfortable and it was fairly clean. But you can only clean old surfaces so much. It needs a facelift to represent what you expect from a Hampton Inn. It's in a very nice section of Birmingham, so one expects a better quality product. I was disappointed in the property, but the people were great.

HORRIBLE...I'd Rather Sleep in My Car This place is a DUMP. Hole in the ceiling, plaster and drywall on the floor, no shower curtain, awful mold and mildew smell that permeated my clothes. Exposed wires in the wall, filthy carpets. I could go on. The Jefferson County Department of Health needs to shut this place down immediately. Rude, incompetent staff. Why were clueless maintenance men at the front desk dealing with guests? I was not even asked for my ID when I checked in. I could have been anybody. Is that Hilton's protocol? When I spoke with the defiant manager with an attitude it all made sense. They don't care. My apologies to my family members I put up here for a wedding. They were appalled as well. This is unacceptable. I'm canceling my Hilton Honors membership. Hello, Marriott.
