Pleasantly Surprised We were pleasantly surprised! We had read reviews on a few places and none were very inviting so we rolled the dice and WON! The room was very clean, beds were comfortable and the TV worked!! (We’ve had bad luck with TVS lately when traveling) we were just passing through and it was our first time in Bishop and it is a quaint little town. We took a nice evening walk and stumbled upon a community “party in the park” type of event. Booths of food, drinks, ice cream and homemade goods & crafts-a live band was fantastic!! We walked downtown and stopped in Rusty’s Saloon for a cold cocktail - they had karaoke and such a fun & friendly crowd!

Stay away from this hotel You can't call Danish, boiled eggs and coffee as breakfast. There was nothing else - no milk, bread, bagel, omelet or anything else, literally. The reception and breakfast area for 30+ (?) rooms was a small 10' x 10' area, just two tables and 6 chairs to sit. I had to spend $30+ each day of stay for breakfast outside. The mattress was overused. My room was almost next to the office, but still could not connect with the internet.

Avoidable problems, not particularly impressed and not worth the hassle, may be our last stay here I went to wash my hands in the sink. The hand soap dispenser was empty. (They no longer supply little soaps but have a large container affixed to the wall). I tried calling the reception but the phone didn't work. So I walked to lobby and got a replacement. I went to wash my face and there weren't any facial wash cloths. I walked back to the lobby and they told me they no longer supply small wash cloths. I persisted and they found the only remaining one. Oh come on! I returned to the room and tried to set the locking device. It was so loose that when extended it would NOT keep the door from opening. So, maybe a chair against the door tonight for my safety. The TV was hard to get working. I turned it on and it just kept telling me "no signal". Just pressing the power button on the remote didn't do it. No instructions. After several minutes I finally solved the Chinese puzzle. The internet was really slow and would drop me. It took me about 5 minutes to load the tripadvisor page. I tried running a speed test and it couldn't do the test. Eventually I was able to run the test. 2 mB download. Not impressive. The room is nice enough but so far there have been a few too many avoidable issues. They are now charging a $7 a night fee in addition to what I already paid to book. That is new. In addition, the cost per night is higher than in the past. We've been here a half dozen times or more and thought that it was a nice enough place to stay on our way to Tahoe. Next time, I may try another place in Bishop or a nearby town.

They double charge you or accuse you of smoking in the room and charge you They double charge you or accuse you of smoking in the room and charge you $250.00. There are spiders living in the rooms. The front desk person might give you the wrong room key. They go above and beyond to make your stay awful. The worst.

Decent for a couple hours If you need a last minute stay this will work but not something to really think of as a nice place pool wasn’t open and green smell in room was odd and clearly needed some repairs in room
