Enjoyed our stay We were very happy with the motel. We were placed on the backside, away from traffic and it was very quiet. They did their best to accommodate our request for a handicap room. Did not stay for breakfast, looked like more of a continental breakfast which we don't care for, but we didn't plan to stay anyway.

Good For One Night We've stayed here twice while driving from San Diego. No frills economy hotel. Clean and comfortable. Breakfast was lacking, in my opinion. No protein offered except peanut butter. Bagels, toaster French toast and waffles, cereal. Poor selection of fruit. Positive is there's a Starbucks in walking distance. No complaints.

Very disappointing. Thermostat did not function properly. TV remote did not operate properly. Breakfast bar was anemic. Paid $130 and quite honestly this room was worth $80 tops. You can do ALOT better in Bishop. Travelodge is a good alternative. Investigate further.

Basic but clean Provided us with a clean bed for a 1 night stay. Room was very dated but was all we needed. Breakfast was included which had a varied selection. It was reasonably priced and close walking distance for us to go to the tri-county fair which we really enjoyed.

Don't think I will ever be staying here again For the past 5 years, I have been staying at the Vagabond in Bishop whenever I pass through the area. However, I must admit that the condition of the place has been steadily declining over the past few years, and my recent visit was the most disappointing of all. To begin with, upon arriving at the front desk, I noticed that there was only one person working, leading to a long line of guests waiting to check in. The poor staff member was overwhelmed, handling constant phone calls while trying to maintain a positive attitude. It was evident that they needed more help to manage the workload effectively. During check-in, we were informed that not all rooms were immediately available due to a shortage of housekeeping staff. This shortage seemed to contribute to a concerning issue we faced in our room – it was infested with flies. I discovered that the housekeeping staff was leaving the front doors wide open while cleaning, which likely allowed the flies to enter. This led us to spend nearly three hours trying to get rid of them. Furthermore, the property itself appeared quite dated and worn out. The ice machine was out of order, and the pool area was in poor condition with broken concrete around the edges. The water in the pool was cloudy and murky, and to my dismay, I noticed used band-aids lying on the pool's side. This was not only unhygienic but also quite unpleasant. The cleanliness of the rooms was another issue of concern. After taking a shower and walking around barefoot, I realized that the bottom of my feet became dirty. It became apparent that the carpets were not properly cleaned, which was disappointing. In all fairness, I don't blame the motel staff for these issues; rather, I believe it's the responsibility of the owners to address these problems. Providing the staff with more help and improving the overall cleanliness and maintenance of the property would go a long way in enhancing the guests' experience. I sincerely hope that the management takes action and makes the necessary improvements to restore the Vagabond in Bishop to its former standard of quality.
