Don't fall for the inviting pictures of this property. If you are reading this, just know the reality of this property is unsettling. The rooms where remodeled, but at a very low budget. The furniture and fixtures are just worn out and. The room has carpet replaced with very cheap vinyl flooring which is a terrible choice for obvious reasons. I will say the staff here was excellent! Very nice people working. But I can't justify that with the gloomy run down rooms. I don't like to have to write a bad review, as a matter fact I had hoped for a nice relaxing get a way this weekend. Dont fall for the inviting pictures of this property.

Bad Experience all around This hotel may look remodeled but its really a band aid over wound. When you arrive, there is no "hello" or "how are you" by the staff. You are immediately pointed to a sign that talks about the police, providing them with your information, and all kinds of other stuff. It's not a very welcoming start to ones stay. The next issue was the parking fee. When I made the reservation, there was no mention of the $10 per night parking fee. I argued about it and stated that I wouldn't have stayed there if I knew I had to pay for parking. The clerk was not empathetic about the situation and even admitted that it is a common complaint that is brought up by customers. At this point, I am already locked into reservation and even if they were to get me out of the reservation, I wasn't going to find a deal on a hotel room so I took it but it didn't feel like the hotel didn't care if they got my business nor wanted to resolve the issue. When going through the terms and conditions, there was one that stated that if you had your room on do not disturb for two days in a room, the hotel reserves the right to enter the room. The hallways were dirty as were the elevator. The room had hairs in the bathroom, stains on the sheets, the blind on the window had holes in it. The wall had paint splattered on it. Throughout my three day stay, the police were there at least four different times that I saw. When I checked out, I talked to GM and told her everything that I said above. She had excuses for everything. I shouldn't see the $10 fee as a parking fee but a security fee because they were the only hotel that has security but I never saw that. She went in to the website that I booked the reservation through and "proved" that it showed the $10 fee but you really had to look for it and it doesn't say anything when you check out that there would be a fee. I told the GM that I wouldn't have stayed there and her response was "You can say that all you want." There was another customer who heard me complaining about the fee and he piped up saying the same thing that he was never notified of the fee when he made the reservation. She didn't even say anything to diffuse the situation, just shook her head. Then, she essentially insinuated that I made everything up about the room by saying "You were here for three days and you didn't bring any of these issues up?" I'm sorry but when a place essentially comes out and says they don't care if they get your business, why would you think they would care and resolve any other issues you bring up. They ended up refunding the $30 fee for parking but it took a week for it to show up. When calling about the status, the front desk clerk I talked to kept interrupting me before I could explain why I was calling, then hung up before she took my name. This was the second time that I had called and I had asked her if my information had been left for the GM and she said no but when I called back, it magically changed to yes. I sent an email into the email that was on the receipt that I had gotten and never received a response from that email which truly shows Quality Inn and Suites treats their customers.

Bad hotel - AVOID!! The 1 star rating is too high. This property is in serious need of retrofit. It is redownload, the public areas are dirty, actually, the elevators are filthy and littered with food scraps. If I wasn’t pressed for time, a 5 hour layover, I would have moved to another facility. There is NO free shuttle to MSP !! Not since 2020 I am informed. Management stopped it. That was the first disappointing thing. Do not book a room here. It sucks. Plain and simple.

Don’t believe it Although the words MSP Airport is in the name. It is actually a long ways from the airport. It is pretty run down, but the price reflects that. Garbage in the elevator for most of the day we were there, Parking is all in the back of the hotel, and there are no ramps for pulling suitcases into the entrance doors. Once of the two entrance doors has 12 steps and no ramp!. The other door is at the opposite end of where the elevator is. Entrance from parking lot is like going through the maintenance closet - also poorly lite. Note that you have to pay for parking, even if you are a Choice Hotel member.

Not the finest of establishments I chose this particular hotel because their website clearly states they have an airport shuttle and a shuttle to the Mall of America. Guess what they didn't have?... a shuttle. Uber from the airport costs around $12.00. Ubers to mall were around $9.00 each way. I checked in early, and that was not an issue. Check-in was friendly. The room itself was large, clean, and heating/cooling worked well. Parquet like floors, which were nice as hotel carpet flooring can be nasty. The halls were dirty and smelled of marijuana. I'm not sure of the laws in Minnesota, but when a hotel advertises as non-smoking, I would think that would include marijuana. The odor was very off-putting. There is a free breakfast, which includes hot/cold items, including make your own waffles. There is a Dennys connected to the hotel, but... It's only open from 7am to 3pm so did not eat there. I've never heard of such hours with a Dennys. There is a super Wal-Mart just across the back parking lot, which was very convenient.
