Too pricey for the quality of facilities The personnel is very friendly, respectful and helpful, but the price is a bit steep after.co sidering few factors such as maintenance of the overall facilities, even in a Jr. Suite the windows are super dusty, window frames are broken, blackout curtains do not cover all the window, pool is.missing several tiles, pool beds are dirty, towels very old with some stains, not to mention the bed.lin ns are in poor shape same as the towels for the room, regarding the food in general is ok, but some elements of them food do not taste too good, meat (carnitas) has too much fat, tostadas taste old, tortillas are no better.

What a lovely time we had at the Camino Real We arrived by taxi from airport and were greeted by a gentleman named Juan who helped with our bags. .The ladies at reception were very polite and let us check in early (noon) which was great. Now we had booked a junior suite which was on the end of the building overlooking the beach and out to sea. Wow, was perfect. room 1815, 8th floor, if you would like a reference. No balconies on either side so we would open balcony door and one window and have the sea breeze blow through all night while we listened to the waves roll in.. A,C wasn't needed. We booked the room with breakfast and was a smart idea. Buffet breakfast was really good and so filling Lots of different choices. I had the chilaquiles just about every day. They changed the type of salsa they were made with daily. The staff was fantastic especially Tomas and the sweet lady making omelettes. Tomas has so much knowledge of the local foods and was very attentive.. In fact after we got home home and my wife's coffee was empty she would call TOMAS!!! but, alas, it would only be me to refill her cup.. The concierge is named Christian and he was always there to chat with in the lobby. We asked about the different tours we could take and he had all the time we needed to answer our questions. .We settled on El Tajin and he booked for us.. He answered all our questions about Veracruz, even told us about the weekend dancing, outside at the town square with live bands which of course we did with all the locals.. Hundreds of people come out to enjoy the evenings. This hotel and city were one of the most pleasant surprises we have run into in all our trips to Mexico. We plan on going back for my wife's birthday in the fall and look forward to staying at the Camino Real again..

Great hotel but some services need improving Check-in was late because the room was not ready at 3:00. The refrigerator was locked and no key to open it. When we requested a blow dryer it did not arrive before our check-out time so we had to leave with wet hair.

Don’t stay here! We stayed for one night in their junior suit which was not any bigger the there normal rooms. When we asked them to give us the key to the minibar to keep some medication cool for our baby they demanded a 500 peso deposit. We had a few friends visit to meet the baby and they would not let them enter the pool area which we had no intention of using but just wanted to set outside. Never have I ever had such a bad experience in any hotel. If you have a choice i suggest you go somewhere with more of a human touch. Before here we stayed in the Hilton garden where they did anything to make you feel welcomed.
