Could be worse, could be better The ESA in Braintree is a decent enough place. It's no-frills, but it's cheap. We needed a place to stay while we waited to close on our new house. We had originally tried a furnished apartment in RI, but it was horrible and we bolted to this place after 1 night. This place is somewhat short of wonderful, but it was massive step up from the apartment. But favorable comparisons aside, this place does have some issues. On the "con" side: 1. There is no lounge area. If you're with a partner, and you have trouble sleeping, there's no place you can go. 2. There's a smoke detector right above the bed with a flashing light. It's not noticeable during the day, but at night it's like a lightning flash. 3. The beds and the rooms themselves are pretty small. Not uncomfortably so, but it is a bit cramped. 4. Housekeeping is desultory. 5. Our key cards would demagnetize pretty much every day, and we'd have to bug the desk people for new ones. 6. The place can be noisy. While we were there, a bunch of guys showed up as a group. Maybe 30 guys or so. They spent all their time hanging out in the parking lot, talking loudly. And it was very easy to hear the people in the next room. 7. The AC is kind of wonky. It's always either too hot or too cold. On the "pro" side": 1. It's very conveniently located. If you've got business on the South Shore, it's very convenient to a lot of things, and sits right at the junction of two major highways. 2. The women who were working the desk were great. They were all super nice and helpful. Cece in particular was a big help to us. 3. When I called the desk to complain about the guys talking in the parking lot (at 10:30 PM), they actually did something about it. 4. It's clean. (When I said "housekeeping is desultory" above, I meant for the time while we were there. When we first got there, I did notice that it seemed well scrubbed.) 5. The laundry and vending machines are in good shape, and take Apple Pay. Overall, I would say this place is decent but not great. It'd be fine if you were in town on business and staying a week or less. For our needs it was a little too small, and a little too chaotic.

Hotel of Horrors... Absolute disgusting dump. - keys to room wouldnt work. Had to go to front desk twice with 2nd time the clerk saying she would let me into the room herself but not with any working keys. - Finally got a different room since I wasn't willing to be a prisoner in the room. - 2nd room - no bath towels. - broken furniture - ants on floor - hairs in shower - dried blood on the floor (yes, dried blood....) The room is non-refundable so I will lose my money by switching hotels. DO NOT STAY HERE. Nothing is worth it.

Zero Stars - do not recommend! The worst hotel in this chain. We selected an extended stay (60 days). The guests are loud 24/7. Management does nothing. Kids screaming and running up and down the halls. Guests fighting and threatening to kill each other. Music blasting 24/7. Again, management does nothing. Hotel manager Vanessa is never available. Finally got her managers name but the email they gave me is wrong and they won't give me his phone number. Filed a complaint with corporate. The rooms are dark dirty and disgusting. The floors sag so the dresser drawers slide open and won't stay closed. The fire sprinkler system blew and flooded half of the hotel. So they moved all the loud people from that half into the same half as my son. Cleaning and room service is a joke. We were told three different days and they didn't show up on any of those days. When they did show up they didn't replace the towels. We had to ask the front desk for towels. Those are threadbare. They could replace those every couple of years. I ended up buying him a set of towels and we just did our own laundry to make sure the sheets and towels were clean. Avoid this location at all costs. There are cars in the parking lot who had their tires removed. The car has been there for the last month and the bolts are just laying on the ground around the car. My sons car was parked right next to it and had th gas siphoned. I chose to check him out a few days early and the hotel is trying to charge me an extra $1900 plus the 6 days left on the reservation after we've paid them $5300 for the almost 2 months he was there. Not getting another dime out of me!

Run down and not a good stay This hotel is very run down and not a place we would stay again. The A/C didn't work well, the room needed lots of work----bathroom light didn't have a cover, the kitchen area was dirty and needed repair. The lounge chair was old and worn and behind it was all kinds of dirt. The hallway was dirty and people were noisy and not polite. The hotel says a full breakfast--that was not what we would call a full breakfast--granola bars, packaged muffins, coffee, hot cocoa, and tea--that was all!!! Smoking was allowed right outside the entrance. The outside area--a picnic table was terrible and full of garbage. We will not stay here again. these are just a few of the photos of the outside of the hotel.

Unethical business practices. Idenity RISK. Avoid this place This place was very disappointing. we picked the unit because it had a kitchen and we could save $$ eating in in Boston. However there were no kitchen goods in the unit. No coffee pot, no plates, spoons, pots etc. it did have a fridge and a microwave. The front desk staff promised to send up a kitchen kit several times but never fell through. I received an email from T Ramirez, who said it would be looked into, and then heard nothing else. vaporized. I received an email from Michelle Pope, claimed General Manager asking why I couldn't give a 9 or 10 rating, and I explained what happened, and requested some compensation for all the meals I had to buy. the reply: I didn't have a T Ramirez on the staff. I sent a copy of the first email back to Pope, and I received an apology and an offer for a free night at any Extended Stay hotel. I never heard back in 6 weeks. nothing. goasted again. The room was very clean but dated. The bed was tired. Also: the first response from Pope listed everyone's email in the mailing. Probably everyone that checked out the same day I did! Major security risk. I would avoid this property and the chain in the future.
