Needs a serious makeover Took a chance on this place and as I pulled up to register, wondered if I'd made a big mistake. The first floor rooms had sliding doors which made it look like it was either being renovated or in really tough shape. My room, up the stairs on the second floor, turned out to be OK and I got a good night's sleep. The breakfast was surprising good and got me off to a good start for the day. Not sure I'd do it again, though.

Pleasantly Surprised The outside of the hotel is plain, and a little run down... but, don't let that scare you away. My room was large and well furnished. The carpet looked new and so did the bathroom fixtures. The room was clean. There was a bit of an odor in the hallway, but I suspect it was from their boiler or dryer. The room did not have a smell. The bed was comfortable. The arm chair in my room was a little on the firm side My room had a refrigerator and a microwave. The water pressure was excellent and the shower was hot. The location was perfect for someone traveling the interstate. The hotel was quiet. I could not hear the people above me. I got a good nights sleep and awoke well rested and ready for my day.

Awful and dirty One of the pillows in our room had a booger in it. Not convinced they actually changed sheets between guests. Outlet hanging out of the wall. Hallway stunk and air conditioning unit looked like it was ready to fall apart. Would not stay here again.

Avoid this property unless you are desperate I generally like the Rodeway Inns that I have stayed at in the past; they provide a good value and a decent place to stay. And some properties have been awesome! This one, however, was one of the worst hotels I have ever stayed at, for several reasons: *First impression was overflowing trash bins in parking lot and cracked and uneven and dirty sidewalk. *Second impression upon walking upstairs to second floor was the landing which had curtains too long for the windows that looked dirty and were touching the floor. *Third impression was the 3 old air conditioning units on the floor at the end of the second floor hallway. I'm assuming they are in the process of replacing the units in some rooms, which is good...but they should not be placed on the floor in the hallway. *The room appeared clean but I was not convinced that the bedding was clean, as the linens had a strange odor. They looked clean, but were they? *The air conditioning unit in my room (217) worked okay but looked terrible. The trim pieces around the unit looked like they might have had mold on them. At best, they looked dirty. *Worst of all...first AND second morning in this room...we could not turn the shower handle to turn the water on in the shower. We gave up and had to go down to the front desk, as the phone in the room did not work (no surprise there). The maintenance man was called to our room. He had to use both hands and struggle to get the handle turned enough for water to come out. We didn't realize until he left that although the water was running, we could not get any hot water. So we had to take two very chilly showers that morning. We told the desk clerk and was advised that some of those handles are hard to operate and we needed to move the handle back and forth to get the water to warm up. Wow. Fortunately, we had friends in a different room, so one of us showered in their room--which was good! No one should be able to use our room with all those issues. I did tell the desk clerk about our continued problems and she did provide a credit of about half the cost of one night's stay...truly, at least one full night should have been credited but I did appreciate and accepted her offer. And...no one should stay at this property until/if they get these issues figured out. There are other choices up and down I80. I will never stay here again.
