Oaks Hotel & Conference Center Was Nicely Located We stayed here before a recent trip to Minnesota. The desk clerk was welcoming and very helpful when we arrived, even pointing out a good parking spot for our car. We had a sleep/fly package, so our car was there for a week. The shuttle driver both going to Midway and returning to the hotel was courteous, knowledgeable about the area, and prompt. While the outside needs updating, the room was comfortable.

Also known as Oaks Hotel This hotel is being remodeled...so I was sure to ask for a newer room. I got a super nice room on the 3rd floor.. Spacious, and clean. Very quiet. Only problem was trying to find the elevator. Laura was in charge at the desk and was patient with non-English speaking guests. Breakfast was a total surprise. It was GREAT!

Horrible customer service. They robbed us! On August 18th we made a reservation from a block of rooms for a wedding. The price was $119. I received my confirmation via email listing the $119. When we checked in the reservation sheet said $159, I said that's not what our confirmation said and I was told it would be corrected in the morning. Well in the morning we were told that was the cost and I'd have to contact the GM on Monday. I sent Russell Smith an email along with our original confirmation. He could have cared less that we were over charged. Instead of apologizing and correcting the situation he pretty much said oh well.....when I said I'd be contacting the BBB and all my travel websites he thanked me for the feedback. Horrible experience. This hotel is now called Oaks Hotel so be aware. They are no longer associated with Choice Hotels. I can see why!

Adequate, and reasonably priced. I went to a small conference at this hotel recently. After reading some of the reviews here, I was worried, but it ended up being fine. The rooms (the renovated rooms on the 3rd floor) were spacious, clean, and had completely new furnishings (although the walls had nothing on them, creating a somewhat barren feeling). The room I had (on the side not facing I-55 and not near the elevator) was very quiet. The conference facilities were fine too, for a small meeting of 125 or so. The downside: The hotel itself is old and tired. You have to walk down a long, scary hallway to get to the elevator to the 3rd floor. The free breakfast on my last day (after the conference) consisted of some forlorn apples and some large, cold pastries. I never managed to get my in-room coffee maker provide me with coffee. Only decaf packets were provided, and the housekeepers never cleaned my coffee maker after the first day nor replenished the coffee. The location is good, the price was reasonable, and it really wasn't too bad, all in all.

Flight Cancelled Our flight to NYC was cancelled. Therefore, we were stranded in Chicago. The hotel is older, but for a moderate price, it was worth every penny. The manager/front desk went above and beyond. They helped us get Uber, milk for our baby........ Also, they provide a free shuttle to and from airport!!!!!
