Wonderful staff My dad moved from central Texas to Carthage so I try to go see him at least every few months. We ( my sister and I) travel with ESA dogs and this is the nicest pet friendly hotel in the area. The hotel is doing a renovation so the pool has been shut every time we have been here so hopefully next year it will be open. The girls on staff are super nice and helpful with suggestions on places to eat. They meet my request so glad they are in Carthage else I would have to be driving to another town to stay

Possibly the worst hotel in Carthage The only reason I'm giving this hotel a one is because zero is not an option. staff was friendly and apologetic but the room was terrible. there were ants all over the bathroom counter once I laid my things out. The air conditioner leaked all over the floor and had been leaking long enough to wear when you walked on the floor in the area water oozed up between the vinyl tiles. This is my third bad experience at this hotel and I am done. I will never stay there again.

Holiday Inn Horror Show Regrettably, my almost week-long stay at the hotel managed by Miss Shronda Graves proved to be a disappointing experience. Following a recent concussion that necessitated rest, I had to continue working out of town on a project, staying for one to three months. Upon check-in, I explained my medical situation and requested help with my luggage, a request met without compassion. Throughout my stay, all interactions with Miss Shronda Graves were strained, and any requests for assistance were met with indifference. It was evident that she did not seem enthusiastic about her role, making her discontent palpable. The distressing experience reached its zenith when, during a prescribed period of rest, I was repeatedly disturbed by housekeeping, ignoring the "DO NOT DISTURB" sign, and attempting to enter my room. Subsequently, I was very loudly confronted by Miss Shronda Graves over the phone, who insisted on entering my room. Shockingly, she involved local law enforcement, falsely alleging a baseless threat and accusing me of being a mass shooter akin to the Las Vegas mass shooter. Despite law enforcement determining I was not a threat and the accusations were childish, Miss Shronda Graves orchestrated an unjust eviction for merely sleeping. To compound matters, she attempted to charge my credit card for an extra week, a further indication of her disregard for my circumstances. Despite reaching out to Holiday Inn corporate, their assistance was limited due to the hotel's franchise status. The lack of support, unjust eviction, false accusations, and unauthorized charges prompted my company to cease all future bookings at this establishment. In conclusion, this encounter has left a lasting impact, making me reconsider staying at any Holiday Inn. Miss Shronda Graves' apparent personal dislike for me, despite my friendliness to her and the staff, translated into a disruptive mission during my stay. The lack of corporate support, unjust eviction, false accusations, and unauthorized charges have created unnecessary stress, tarnishing what should have been a routine business trip. Consequently, while I have no intention of staying at any Holiday Inn again, I find solace in expressing my dissatisfaction by allowing my dog to relieve herself on their premises during my travels.

Rude desk clerk We have been Holiday Inn/Express customer since the 70s and have stayed at this Carthage establishment since it opened. We checked in for two nights on November 28th 2022. Settled in to watch Monday Night football. The TV was not working. Nefertiti, the desk clerk told us that she did not know when the technician would come. When we asked for another room she told us in fact that TV service had been out since Thanksgiving, the 24th. We asked why she didn’t tell us when we checked in. We should have been given that courtesy. Her answer was if we had been coming every since it opened she didn’t understand why having a TV in the room was so important. Her tone of voice was so dismissive. It was the first time we ever experienced such an unprofessional, rude, and indifferent desk clerk in the 40 years since Holiday Inn has been our hotel of choice. She did call a nearby hotel that had accommodations. We got our things and checked in to the other hotel never to use Carthage Holiday Inn Express again. Gloria Sanders

Insane Road Noise I stayed here last night in room 201. Do not stay at this hotel if you are interested in sleeping. I am by no means a light sleeper. The road noise in room 201 was absolutely horrendous. Might as well have bought a cot and lay beside the feeder road. I had to pay $98.00 for the room and that is a ridiculous amount of money to charge for such loud accommodations.
