Our Greatest Hotel adventure in Asheville ever We stayed here for four nights for the first time. The hotel is right in the middle of the downtown "Cool" area. The hotel is a former department store. The renovations are glamourous. We stayed on the top floor. Our room was enormous and very well appointed in an "Art Deco" style. It was beautiful. The staff was fantastic and professional. Valet parking only was good. The adjoining restaurant was so very good. Our stay was one of the very best in Asheville we have ever had.

Surprised at the other reviews for this place I selected this hotel due to the great location. Less than a mile from the venue where my wife and I would be attending a show. And due to the good review score here and on Google. But upon checking in, we immediately noticed that the A/C was not working properly. The room was very humid. The bedsheets felt damp. We turned it down as low as it would go and it did eventually get cold, but did not remove the humidity. The next morning, I felt ill due to the poor environment in the room, and the need to keep it running so low. The room, especially the bathroom was very dark. Some light bulbs were burnt out. My wife is vision impaired, and it was difficult for her to see to do her hair and makeup. The room only had one chair. The property did not have an ice machine. My wife and I were visiting the area for leisure, and we wanted to have a cocktail and spend some time in the room before we went out to a show. But it was uncomfortable to stay in the room. The desk clerk stated he would submit a maintenance request, but that it was unlikely to be resolved that evening. Which it was not. He did eventually find a second chair for us to use. I would definitely not ever stay at this property again and do not recommend it to others.

Nice place for the price. Staff at front desk was informative about local area. Rooms are clean but dated. Beds were ok and A/C worked good. Surrounding area had plenty of shops and restaurants. Decent hotel for the price. Easy to get on other freeways and expressways

Leaves much to be desired Stayed her for a couple nights in January. The property around that time was severely understaffed. a big shoutout the front desk agent who acted as Housekeeping and Engineering when I had issues with my room. I also asked for no HK service and left the DND on my door. When I returned the sign was completely gone and someone had been in the room. Not cool at all. Over all I would not stay again.
