A good nights rest For being so close to highway, the room was remarkably quiet. We slept great. The hotel and room were very clean. The staff was so nice Check in and out was simple, fast and easy. If I am in the area again, I'll stay here.

Drab and Depressing We found few places to stay during commencement at UVA, and even this hotel had inflated rates and 2-night minimums that weekend. Overall, the property was dingy and tired and in need of updates and maintenance. The way the property is laid out is in long, dark corridors with dim lighting and little signage. The single elevator functions fine but needs its floor to be replaced. The room was acceptably clean, but continued the dark and dingy theme, with stained brown/grey carpeting. The bathroom was in dire need of maintenance and updating. A tiny corner vanity did not provide enough room for both me and my husband to place our toilet kits. The towel bar simply fell off the wall, showing evidence of prior, inadequate remedies. The drain in the shower took forever to drain, leaving me ankle-deep as I showered (and had a broken stopper, so that if you accidentally closed it, it could stay closed). There is no vent fan, and it shows, with peeling and blistering paint all around. The tile grout was stained, and there was messy grout/paint/caulk all around. Altogether unpleasant. I've been careful to judge this hotel against others of its class. In that regard, the bed was OK, and the amenities were as promised. However, especially with $300+ rates over graduation weekend, it was a drab and depressing experience.

Hope you don't have to check-in on time and want a clean room This hotel is/was very short staffed. I worked all day then drove 1.5 hours and checked in at 4pm. I was told my room wasn't ready so I left went to dinner. Came back at 8:30pm and was told my room still wasn't ready. Excuses Excuses Excuses. Sorry we are short staffed the Manager and Assistant Manager were cleaning the rooms. They were told my son and I were there waiting in the lobby for our room to be ready. They cleaned every room but ours. They saved it for last even though they knew we were waiting. Four other people checked in while we were waiting. We called corporate to ask what the policy was when they couldn't get a room ready, we didn't know if we would be transferred to a partner hotel or get a discount or what. On our way to our room both the Manager and Assistant manager confronted us about us calling corporate and preceded to tell us how corporate ripped into them and made their front desk person "very emotional" and that it was f***ing under-staffed and they cleaned the rooms. My son and I just looked at each other and was like they are confronting us and using profanity while we had to wait until 10:45pm to get into our room? I woke up the next morning and wanted to make coffee, I went into the bathroom and my foot stuck to the floor, I noticed a streak of something. I cleaned it up with a hand towel. I then got some water and went to put it into the coffee pot and when I lifted the lid, the inside was disgusting. My nose was plugged up in the morning also and noticed the vent had looked like it had never been wiped off. All the grout around the toilet was black and disgusting. Checked out Sunday morning and the Assistant Manager was the only one at the front desk and she didn't say a word to me or offer any type of discount for having to wait almost 7 hours past the check-in time. The one only positive thing was the bed was comfortable.

I'll stay elsewhere next time. Not my favorite place. The bathroom was still dirty, stuff stuck on the sink porcelain and heaven knows what on the toilet paper still. Hairs on the counter and floor. The internet "speed" topped out at 1mb/s, which is unheard of today. It was impossible to do any work using it. Some guy was smoking weed in the hallway. And they charged more than was advertised on Expedia for the night. Wouldn't recommend.

Clean and comfortable Hotel staff were very friendly, and the room was clean and comfortable. I am not one to notice bed linens, but as I drifted off to sleep I thought, "these are really comfortable sheets." I AM one to notice annoying noise from the heat pump in hotel rooms, and I was please that this one was quiet as a whisper.
