Good location, but nothing extra We booked this hotel for its location and because it is dog friendly for dogs up to 50lbs, so I do really appreciate their pet policy and I wish more decent hotels would follow suit. I would recommend letting pets stay on the first floor since my dog hates elevators, but no big deal. But there is not a single blade of grass on the property, and we happened to arrive when the park across the street was blocked off to remove a statue, so we had to walk the dog a decent distance for him to be able to do his business. In addition, their cafe and rooftop bar were closed even though the rooftop bar is outdoors. There is $5 water in the room, or a vending machine that was conveniently out of bottled water to force customers to buy the $5 water. They are still doing no housekeeping services "due to covid" but of course the prices haven't been adjusted for this. When we spilled something on the bed, they brought us a new comforter for us to put on ourselves. Really? They have valet-only parking for $16 a day when you can literally SEE your car 50 feet away. I don't need someone to park my car for me for that price, but they are employing at least 2 people for each shift to do this. The stairwells are very uneven and there was a dead roach the entire time we were there. The rooms were clean and fine, but our AC didn't get below 75 degrees the first two days and the thermostat was way off. The desk staff was friendly and so were the valets. Nice to us and our hyper dog. The hotel is walkable to the university and lots of decent restaurants. Overall we had a good stay, but I would only book again if I need a dog friendly place.

Too bad We had high expectations and were sadly disappointed. Trying to be fair, the hotel is suffering post-COVID recovery. I would try just about any decent area hotel before going back. All food service was shut down (without notification, sink didn't drain, safe didn't work, and employees seemed disinterested. It's a shame as the hotel is convenient and as cool a concept as can be.

C- for the Graduate The CVille Graduate is not a nice, even for a budget hotel. Although the advertising lists this place as a “hand-crafted boutique hotel,” that can only be true if it means rough and snobby. The building is tired, the rugs are worn, the room furnishings are dated and the wiring consists of criss-crossed extension cords. The AC blows all day and all night, wasting energy and leaving the rooms chilly and moist, despite efforts to regulate the temperature by the dial. The hallways are freezing and this was in mid-summer. Oh, and only 1 towel per guest, no ice bucket and no coffee maker. If you really want coffee, come to the lobby and pour yourself a cup from the communal coffee maker—in the middle of the COVID epidemic! Or enjoy your room’s $5 water bottles—drink up! Or the $2.50 bottles in the vending machine. My GF asked one of the unmasked workers we were talking to in the elevator if she had gotten vaxed and she said that she had b/c the hotel paid her to. Otherwise, she wouldn't have. Best, though, is that when you note any of this to the staff at the front desk, you get a lecture about how they “can’t speak for other hotels,” but this is how things are done at the Graduate. Sorry—I’ve stayed in other Graduate Hotels in other cities (most recently in Ann Arbor) and they were perfectly fine. This one is not. The consumer has other, better choices to stay in CVille, just steps away from this C- grade Graduate.

Too expensive for the value I expected more for the room accommodations. Other hotels offer a better stay for the money. There was no food on site . The staff was very gracious and friendly. I did not know ahead of time that there was no daily room service.

Last stay here As much as I was looking forward to a repeat stay at The Graduate, I will not return and can not recommend. Overpriced, not clean, not in working order, and valet parking for an extra $16. Or you can park down the street…… ridiculous!
