Waiting for elevators It seems like I spent a good amount of time waiting for the elevator. They have three elevators but one was out of service the entire trip. Another worked episodically. When you combine that with no ability to walk down the stairs to the lobby it was quite annoying and not something I would expect from a Marriott. I also found out by asking that you need to ask to have your room serviced. No one mentioned this to me and there was no card in the room informing me of that fact. Rooms were nicely appointed and fresh.

Great location, just bring your house repair tools with you...... Was in town to host a 70th bday party for my sister in Bethesda. We have made the property our base in the area cause you cant beat the location, plus the rates very fair for DC....but hold on to that ...a reservation at this hotel includes some assembly required. Had great check in Friday note with Dominique, went to out room on 12th, and the door was jammed and wouldnt open....the electronic key was working, the door literally would NOT open. So back down (the wait for the elevators can get annoying), moved to another room, well we got in but maintenance had to visit since you could take bath/shower at same time as drain wasnt working, hair dryer after their bath/shower was in need of repair, iron needed replacing, and son had to work with ac unit in order for it to stay cool enough for us seasoned citizens. Did not eat there so cant comment, front desk folks (who we got to know on first name basis) were on it, plus parking was included due to wife being lifetime titanium elite with Marriott. Be advised if you have questionable drivers or larger suv for the trip, the underground parking lot has columns and very low ceiling...and I mean low so you have been warned. It got the job done, and again you cant be the location to rest, stores, and metro.

Poor attitude Above all Customer service and respect is most important. The ladies working the desk Saturday (4/10) morning were very sweet and charming. Unfortunately my experience with Cal at check-in on 4/10 was the opposite. As a retired MI employee I appreciate it may be difficult to stay current on ever changing policies and guidelines but it is not the Marriott way to the be dismissive and cut a guest off mid sentence. I attempted to explain to Cal that as a retiree, we don’t have access to explorer rate forms and therefore we are only able present our Qtr Century Club card at check-in. It wasn’t until I came back down to desk and provided him with the QCC 800 number, so he could here for himself the policy, did he reluctantly accepted my card. Hope this becomes a coaching opportunity as there is nothing more important than the genuine care and respect of a hotel guest.

dont be fooled by the pictures I don't know where to begin, I just knew that i should have checked out immediately and book myself into another hotel in the area. When i first arrived, my room had no electricity, and the lights were off. I thought that it was eco-friendly type of room, but it was not. The desk attendant could not believe that there was no electricity, he moved me to the room next to the one that had no electricity so i asked if the room would have electricity, he reassured that it would be. So i had the lights on, it was on 7th floor, and the hallway reeks of cigarettes. I didnt want to go back down to move into another room and i tried to change the temperature for the Heating/AC center, but it was not working. it was a little cold in the room and i did not like the way how the fan circulates in the room which made it colder. I had figured that a hot shower would help to shake it off, but i had no HOT WATER running! i had to turn it off a couple of times because i could not bear any more of running cold water. Actually, the only time that it was warmer is when i was in my car with heating on, and I couldn't wait to get out of there. Otherwise, the location is right by the marketplace, Starbucks, and it was easier to walk to the shops that i could grab what i had needed before my meetings. I would definitely recommend to those who can stay in this area during the summer time where the AC is most fitting for. OR needed a place where they can short for a short period of time. I was in the town for meeting and this is the best i could find in the area of Chevy Chase.
