"HIGHWAY ROBBERY" The hotel is on what it looked like the tail end of a remodel. The huge negative is they charged $270 including fees for a one night stay in a basic double bed room on a Monday night. I've spent less than that at high end 5 star hotels on a regular basis. Since they are just off the highway the phrase "HIGHWAY ROBBERY" definitely applies. There are other choices there as well as a 1/2 mile ride into town some other great local places to stay. Hindsight is definitely 20/20 on this one.

Not a good deal Well, the first thing was when I booked the room. It was one of the most expensive rooms I’ve had to book in my life and I’ve traveled thousands of nights at Holiday Inn. When we got in, found out my telephone in my room didn’t work. The refrigerator doesn’t work in my room. the ice machine on our floor doesn’t work. When I told the front desk, they just kind of shrugged their shoulders and said “oh well “. Normally, if you had to pay extra, you expect at least things to be working. As a diamond elite member of IHG, I may have to evaluate and switch over to Hilton because I’ve never had an experience like this at the Hilton.

SUDDEN COST OF ROOM INCREASE Been staying at IHG hotels for 20 years. First Holiday Inn & Suites that suddenly believe they are worth $20 more in the middle of a stay. I have always had an estimate of costs thru IHG and never had new rate charged in the middle of my stay. Two days in a row I have had to get my key card reactivated. “ they are a very sensitive card” the desk says. While the new renovation is nice the PIA is the rate change! Make sure you know what day they feel you need to spend more after 2 days of a 4 day stay!!!!!

A terrible way to begin our holiday trip We should have walked out when the customer ahead of us, walked back to the Check In counter and told the clerk that the room wasn't made up and ready for new occupants. It went down hill from there. We were assigned our room and as we went to it we noticed the rug in the hallway was dirty, torn and really worn out. Our room was very updated, few pictures, very minimal in design. We travel with an electric refrigerated food box and when we plugged it in, it blew a fuse. It took three different times, and three trips the poor night clerk had to make to our room, to find a place where we could plug our refrigerator in. We needed some heat in the room, so we set the thermostat to what we wanted and when it got to the temperature in the room, it continued to heat the room, and it got so warm that we had to keep turning the furnace off and on. We ended up sleeping the night with the heat off, because it was not controllable. We were not pleased with that situation at all. The breakfast was also lacking. My husband picked up a bagel and it was so hard there was no way that he could eat it. It was obviously very old. So he tried an English muffin, same result. He finally tried toast, toasted the bread and it was almost eatable. There is much more that we could write, but it really was a terrible beginning to our holiday trip. We would never stay there again, and don't recommend anyone to stay there. The rooms are newly redecorated, but that does not mean a great night.

Not treated well Daytime manager, Lillian, needs some classes in people skills. She is rude and not accommodating. Will never stay in this hotel again because of her. We are even a holiday inn member and were still not treated well. The front desk people were great. Just not the manager.
