Best La Quinta ever! OMG, this La Quinta is an absolute oasis. And this goes double if you are traveling with pets. It was a day that had left me completely frazzled. I had driven over 13 hours from Traverse City, MI in blistering heat and unbelievable traffic with two slobbering golden retrievers. From the moment I pulled off the interstate in Clive I felt like we had landed in OZ. Everything was so green and well manicured. Check-in was friendly and efficient. The room was pristine. Crisp linen, good water pressure, and industrial strength AC! Perhaps most noteworthy is what lies outside the hotel - miles and miles of beautiful places to walk your dogs. Less than 2 blocks away is an upscale business park that has rolling hills, 2 small lakes, fountains, and walking trails. We walked over a mile until it got too dark. In the morning, we took another good walk into a beautiful neighborhood. And this La Quinta really means it when they say they are pet friendly - pets stay for free. Another plus is that the gas station on the corner had the cheapest gas I purchased during my entire 2450 mile drive to the West Coast. I told my sister I would go out of my way to stay here again. What a fantastic experience!!!!

Maintenance regarding serious safety issues and lack of attention to detail in cleanliness. We like La Quinta usually because there’s a decent breakfast included with choices and the rooms are reasonably comfortable. Unfortunately this last stay, I need to write a review about the shoddy cleaning and maintenance issues we came across. We were greeted by fist holes in the closet door, shabby dusting and wiping down of the phone, table and chair. There was foreign hair on the bathroom tile. Multiple wires protrudes from under the tv, the window screen was also badly damaged and the smoke alarm on the wall was bagged up, making these serious safety issues too. I hope the next time we stay at a La Quinta’s, that the manager is doing their job better to ensure such issues are not there or it may be our last stay with them.

Nice average hotel for one night stay We've stayed here occasionally, traveling through to other states. It's an average, affordable hotel for a one night stay. The staff has always been friendly and had good customer service. The beds/pillows are comfortable and the room temperature is easy to control. I'm not a fan of the sink/mirror area being outside the bathroom, as it wakes up those who sleep later than I do, but it's not a deal breaker for one night. Our room was clean and comfortable. I dropped the rating by one star because breakfast wasn't good like it had been before. They've changed what they serve and how they serve it. We would have been better off at McDonalds down the road. Having said that, the people in charge of serving the food were gracious and friendly. I'm sure that higher priced hotels in the area have better offerings for breakfast, but then you get what you pay for.

Manager acted like I was lying The Wifi in our room did not work well, and I called to tell the front desk and was told she would look into it and call back and she did not.The water diverter in the tub sent a lot of water into the tub so you were standing in water. The toilet ran off and on all night.I reported these issues to the desk clerk when we checked out the next morning. He said the manager was not there. I called after we got home snd spoke with a manager, and she said that the wifi was working because no one else had complained. I said that it was not not connecting well in our room. She said the wifi had not gone out. She made me feel like she thought I was lying to her.She said we could have changed room, but I said we had gotten in at dinnertime and had gone out.We discovered these issues fairly late in the evening and would not have wanted to change rooms after already unloaded things in the room and taken a shower.
