Wonderful experience, Non-chain hotel What a wonderful place. It is located right off the Clive expressway but tucked away behind an Applebee's. You walk through the doors you feel like you are in someone's cabin. It is all camping and lodging themed. There were comfy couches where kids were playing checkers and other board games. Your checkin on the left. We enjoyed our banter with Jenny who checked us in. It was wonderful to hear she has been there for 30(!) years. We were thankfully our two rooms were not only ready but next to each other. A very welcome thought after a travel day. The elevator, pool and hot tub are on the right. When you get off the elevator you go around a little corner and there is a catwalk over the lobby. There are chairs you could sit at. So cute to look below. Our rooms were nice. The beds were very comfortable. I really appreciate having a microwave and refrigerator! I'm not sure if there is a safe. The bathrooms, especially the showers are just a bit small for my liking but everything is absolutely clean! The pool and hot tub are nice. The morning HOT breakfast is very nice. Something for everyone from a coffee bar that is available all day (sweet!), to cereal to biscuits and homemade gravy to toast/bagels, mini chocolate donuts and cinnamon rolls to waffles! There is also a microwave if you need to heat anything up . There is free onsite ample parking. They have a nice fire pit outside with 10 chairs spaced nicely around it. Absolutely wonderful! We would make a trip back to Clive just to stay here!!

Nice place to stay in nice area Very pleasant "Lodge" vibe in an upscale suburb. Staff was super helpful, changing our floor level at check-in. Room was clean and bed comfortable. Breakfast was meh. We drove two miles to a nice restaurant, but there were at least three places within easy walking distance, including for breakfast. No EV charging at the hotel, but as the front desk noted, EV charging was available very nearby. The pool was very popular with kids.

Excellent stay at backwoods oasis I hardly ever give hotels a 5 but this was an excellent stay! We arrived early enough to enjoy the hot tub and pool, we walked to a nearby restaurant, and we played one of the old board games in the lobby. We enjoyed the two story lobby full of comfy chairs and tables and were pleasantly surprised to see guests actually hanging out in sofas around the fireplace or eating popcorn and talking at the tables. The breakfast was good; I’m always happy to find yogurt and granola with lots of dried fruits in addition to the normal breakfast fare. The large windows in the pool area (which was in a 3-story atrium) and the trees outside and the north woods theme (including fake rocks around the pool which were more enticing than it sounds, a fire pit outside, and framed art from old outdoors magazines made it feel like more of an oasis than you’d expect in what was basically a mall not far off rte 80. The only downside is the people above us seemed to be jumping off the beds into the floor til 10:10 when we banged on our ceiling and they stopped. Not quite sure If the floors/ceilings are thin or we had some young hooligans staying above us or what. But we’d be back again and I’ll check out where else this brand is. Price was reasonable too.

Great staff Room was very clean, nice soft bed. Pillows were way too small and not at all comfortable. However staff was great, bent over backwards to make sure everyone had what they wanted for breakfast and on their way for the day and arranged for transportation for airport and rides there. Could not find the TV remote and they brought one up, no questions asked Competitive price on room. Lots of places in walking distance to grab food and extras

Bad They banned my family after a reunion because we were awake and drinking as adults in a room we rented passed 10 pm. None of the toilets flushed. Woke up with a rash on my arm. Nighttime manager was verbally abusive with my 74 year old grandmother. Breakfast was at best mid.
