May not be the best choice for Senior Citizens As a member of Hilton Honors we have stayed at several Homewood Suites so we decided to try this one near the Columbus Airport. We often travel to Columbus so we were looking at this hotel as our new base but cannot return as we did not feel either safe nor satisfied. I was surprised when I did an online check-in for our four night stay through the Honors' app as I was not given the choice of choosing our room as is normal practice. When we arrived we were put on the 4th (top) floor which later proved an issue. At check-in we were asked to authorize a credit card amount several hundred dollars more than the actual cost. I was told that was to cover any "incidentals". When I asked what those might be I was told "damages". As 80+ year old travelers I was both insulted and concerned whether a hotel that got advance approval for damages was a place that we could safely stay. What kind of hotel is this? During our stay we reported a small problem with our bathroom sink that was never addressed and for two of the four days both of the TV's did not have most channels. I reported that but it took two days to fix. On our last night there we returned at about 9PM to find the elevator not working so two seniors had to walk up to the 4th floor. We thought there must be an additional elevator somewhere in the hotel but when we went to the front desk there was no one working there. Again, not having a person on the front desk does not give seniors a sense of security. Seeing other poor reviews for this hotel here on TripAdvisor I noticed the hotel responds with formulaic responses promising to do better. We suggest that any senior travelers try one of the other airport area hotels.

Worst experience I stay in Hilton Hotels every time I travel, and I travel often, this hotel was one of the worst experiences. The room was so dirty and smelly, the sheets were dirty, and they had cigarette burns on them. The toilet handle was broken, and we contacted the hotel staff 3 times to come and fix it because we literally had to take the toilet top off in order to flush it each time. No one ever bothered to come and fix it. If you don't absolutely have to stay here don't.

Great Stay! The 2BDRM was Awesome! I was concerned by some of the recent reviews, but I was pleasantly surprised. The hotel front desk attendants were awesome. Very welcoming. They offered free water and chocolate bars once we checked in. The 2 bedroom suite I booked for my small family was perfect. Each bedroom and bathroom was very clean. Loved the kitchenette area as well. Complimentary breakfast had a good number of options and we enjoyed it. I’m glad I booked even with the recent bad reviews because this stay was 10/10 for us. Would definitely recommend the 2 bedroom suites for smaller families!

Terrible Experience…stay far away from this hotel Traveled with my family of 5 and chose this hotel so we could all be in the same room the night before our flight. We’re given a room that smelled like human urine. So strong that we all had to leave the room almost immediately. As soon as you opened the door you could smell it. While I was at the desk another guest came up to my family and said…”Did they try and put you in room 102? They also put us in that room and it smelled like urine so they moved us and I watched them only walk in and spray air freshener…they did not attempt to correct before they tried to put you in that room.” I was then told they had no other similar rooms and that my family had to be split into 2 rooms but no worries they were only charging us for 1….really? Once in the rooms we still needed to use a pullout couch and guess what….no extra bedding in either room. I called down to get bedding and was told I would have to go down to the desk to get it. We were all already in pjs and ready for bed so I had to get dressed to go down. When I arrived at the desk there were 2 managers and the front desk lady…this really upset me at this point. Is this Hilton’s customer service standards now? I was still charged the price for the larger room that we originally booked….if you want to pay over 200 dollars for Red Roof quality then you will be okay staying at this hotel. I am a Hilton Gold member and have never experienced anything like this before from other Hilton properties. Stay far far away from this hotel.
