Clean and Quiet This hotel is a bit shabby, but seemed clean enough. It was very quiet when I was there. The location is great for attending a Whitecaps game or visiting downtown Grand Rapids. It's an easy drive down 131 to downtown. The manager was friendly, and had my room ready early. There is a Biggby Coffee Shop, Jets Pizza, Dokl's Grill, and Subway within a quarter mile if you want a quick meal or a good cup of coffee. A bit farther down the road, Vitale's, Mill Creek Tavern, or the Bier Distillery have a food that is a bit more upscale than fast food. Bring your own shampoo and lotion -- they use the tiny plastic bottles that will be languishing in the landfill long after you're gone.

Typical Comfort Suites This location on the north side of Grand Rapids is convenient to the downtown area -- less than a 10-minute drive. Beats staying downtown at much higher prices, paid parking and no breakfast. Room was clean, staff friendly, will stay here again next time in GR.

Overpriced room for the lack of quality, Staff was friendly Price paid for the room did not equal quality standards. Room was comfortable. Only issue had to do with cobwebs in the window frame above the A/C unit. The breakfast area and supplies were poorly maintained. You have a busy Saturday morning with a lot of travelers staying at your hotel, No one was keeping the trash emptied. Supplies were low. No attendant monitoring the area. Some equipment items in poor repair. Looked shabby.

Friendly Staff, Poor Maintenance We've stayed many times here through the years and the facility is showing its age. Maintenance is not something they've kept up. There was one elevator down the entirety of our stay, so we mostly took the stairs. The hot water heater was not working properly during our stay; when we contacted the front desk each time they'd apologize and say they'd go "re-set" it or "turn it back on." It was so bad we had to bathe the kids at a relative's house. The floors are not properly insulated, so you hear the people above you as if they're practicing for a clogging event. The breakfast is not properly staffed; they have a tiny amount of food out at a time so the poor lady running it is constantly having to refill everything. It's also mostly cheap carbs. There is very little (if any) fresh fruit. The iron in the room did not work and spilled rusty water on my wife's cardigan. Housekeeping is by request only; despite requesting housekeeping, they never came.
