Great! Possibly the nicest and most clean Comfort Inn I have ever stayed at. Room was spectacular, great shower, and comfy bed. I highly recommend this motel! The rooms were plenty large and quiet. I can’t think of a single complaint about anything.

For guests who like a noisy ad hoc fiesta in back of your room. This was probably the noisiest hotel experiences I have ever had — a completely sleepless night. What happened — Outside in the parking lot, a group had gathered for an ad hoc party with Banda, Nortana, and Cumbia music turned up so loud, you could feel the bass vibrating the room. This was complimented by loud noises and constant gritas — loud Latino screaming like you expect at a cliched fiesta. I went down to the lobby to speak to the front desk. She was unaware of it at first, but then explained to me this has become a regular issue for the establishment. She said she would call the Conover police. I should add she was nice, empathetic, and sympathetic. I walked out to the parking lot right in back of our room and the swimming pool. There were 3-4 vehicles gathered in a circle with the fronts pointed to one another and lots of beer on the ground. In my choppy Spanish, I explained this was late and people were trying to sleep. They seemed surprised that they had been approached. It was obvious their English was not great. When I returned to the lobby, I ask the receptionist where the security guard was. She replied they get off at 5a. However, this started a 2a. After a little investigation and deduction, I figured out this hotel has a number of non-native workers lodged here from a nearby company who work the late shift. They are attracting friends from the same job site or local community. I should add that the some of the hotel guests in rooms next to ours were also very boisterous and not intent on sleeping at a normal time period. Bottom line — this hotel knowingly is lodging temporary workers with a history of disruption and has not taken the steps to deal with the effects of doing so. This includes lack of staff and basic security guard measures. Hotel management is to blame for not taking the proper steps to account for the reoccurring situation and putting this on what little staff they had. What a damper on an otherwise wonderful trip in NC.

Nice stay at a nice place Nice hotel in a convenient location- comfortable beds, friendly staff and a complimentary breakfast- Nice building to walk around if you like taking laps before bed. There is also an outdoor pool- and a well lit parking lot. I would stay here again!

A solid if not standout place This is my go-to hotel in Conover; I've probably stayed 6-8 times. Certainly not 5-stars, but a solid 3, with some of the friendliest staff I've ever met. The place could use a spruce-up -- hall carpets need work, stairways need paint and minor maintenance, rooms are clean but could use a deep clean. But all is well, the beds are comfortable, the breakfast is good, and coffee and tea are available 24/7. It's also 7 miles from my parents' house, so convenient, and near to convenience stores, restaurants, and I-40. The fact many families use it, and lineman crews, and maintenance crews, is probably due to the location and the staff.

The transfer from La Quinta to Comfort Inn did not improve the facility We've stayed at this hotel a half dozen or so times over the years. This was the first time since the franchise change to Comfort Inn - it was a La Quinta previously. As a group, we've decided to investigate other hotels for future visits. As before, the staff was (mostly) wonderful - friendly, helpful, considerate, generous - with one exception but nothing bad. One-on-one, they're caring and courteous. I can't tell if it's the pandemic or the management, but both maintenance and breakfast service appeared to have slid. The place looks dated, and minor things such as automatic door closers on fire doors, and deep cleaning of caulk and corners, were things I noted. Others in our group had difficulties getting and/or maintaining hot water in the showers. Our shower head was bad, but was replaced as soon as I reported it. One would think the housekeeping staff would have noted it, but .... Breakfast service was significantly less attractive than in the past. First day they ran out of eggs - they knew they had at least one group of 20+ people, and we saw another group there. I understand they ran out of eggs again on Saturday, but that's hearsay. Another day they ran out of cutlery; my brother cut his waffle with a spoon, and the attendant brought me a metal knife after I asked. On Sunday, the attendant was late, so there was no hot food at 7 when the breakfast bar should have opened and when many in our group were counting on breakfast before traveling. The attendant gets the heat for these, but the hotel management failed to plan ahead.
