Bedbugs!!! Stayed one night on a cross country trip only to wake up to what I identified as a tiny female bedbug scurrying around the bathroom counter when I turned the light on. Found a dead male curled up dead by the toilet. Later found several bites on my face and abdomen. Now dealing with pest control while on the move visiting family and the stress of possibly infesting several homes during my journey. Staff I spoke to about the issue was quick to credit 50% of my payment but was extremely dismissive of the possibility that they were actually bedbugs, playing it off as no big deal. Was supposed to receive a call after room inspection with an update, but have received no follow up. My trip has been completely derailed by the paranoia and anxiety that I may be carrying bedbugs with me into other people’s home. Would not stay here again, this was an awful way to start a long roadtrip.

Back again Stayed here a few years ago, came back again due to it's location, right off of I80 and their rates. Still seemed clean and comfortable as to be expected. Would stay here again. Note there is some construction in the area - the off ramp and the bridge going into Iowa City. But the hotel is still easily accessible going Westbound. Small detour to get back onto I80 though. No big deal and well marked.

Stay far away from this hotel Be wary of this hotel. We were patient and decided not to fuss but by the end of our stay we cancelled and future plans to return and will stay far away. While some items are uncontrollable such as the unsupervised baseball teams tearing apart the lobby the first night to the 6 or 7 attempts to get working keys. Then there was the room.. a broken phone that wouldn’t stop blinking, a toilet that took 5 or more minutes to refill, to a missing drain stopper and seeing all the hair in drain, or the ac we couldn’t control. all it was was on or off, But the kicker was when we went to take a shower and the spigot came off the wall! We managed to force it on enough to limp our way through the stay. just stay away from here! It’s isn’t worth any of the money you are paying for it.

This is an above average Hampton This property has been recently remodeled. This property does have the USA Today newspaper The 1st floor is on the lower level, and requires an elevator to get to. The entrance, desk, indoor pool, and breakfast area are on the second floor. This property has a large breakfast serving area, and a large eating area. The breakfast Hostesses very friendly. Our room had; a very small refrigerator, no clock, no alarm clock, the phone had no cord and did not work, and the thermostat on the wall did not work controlling the a/c - heater by the window. The internet speed was; download of speed 12.3 and upload speed of 11.6. About 1/3 of superior Motel properties that has 30 plus speeds. There is NO parking (other than Handicapped) near the front door, and it is a bit of a walk to car parking. There is a very popular restaurant very close, next door. I believe many of the restaurant guests were using the Hampton Inn parking that was on that side of the Hotel. The I-80 entrance ramp is under construction; therefore if you wish to go West on I-80, you need to go East on I-80 two miles, take the exit, cross over and then go West. This property has the potential to be an "Outstanding" property; but presently the desk staff, housekeeping staff, and maintenance staff are lacking a lot of "Attention to details" around the property. It starts with the first impression by the desk clerk who did not know her job properly and was not friendly, and all the items that were missing or not working in the room, and items in the lobby bath room that need attention of being fixed! With all that said, this is still a better than average Hampton Inn.
