Microtel Inn by Wyndham Cornelius/Lake Norman

Great stay for the price. Friendly people, clean and a good location, close to Lake Norman. The staff was also very helpful with restaurant recommendations and answering question. Breakfast was clean and well stocked.. 5 stars mostly because it’s exceeds expectations for a budget motel.

Like Arnold said, I'll be back! After being on road for hours I saw a sign for Microtel Lake Norman/Cornelius. I, myself manage a (Best of the Best) Wyndham Property and I know a nice, well managed property when I see it. The hotel was very clean and they had a Best of the Best of Wyndham trophy proudly displayed at the front desk. I was then greeted by Peter. He was very personable, professional and knowledgeable. He actually gave me an upgrade on my room and graciously offered to show me a single room verses the double room I was assigned to. The beds were so comfortable and we slept very well. Another perk was that this hotel had a covered parking garage. Nice! The breakfast was modest but well attended and fully stocked. Upon departure the housekeepers Mike and Hema asked me how my stay was and invited me to visit again then requested that I complete a review. So Hema, here's your review! I returned my keys to Liz at the front desk, who was friendly, cordial and had a great personality. I would highly recommend this hotel. Thanks for a great stay!

Good Location - In need of updating! Good location, however, property is is need of updating! Good choice of restaurants close by, Breakfast choices are average. Beds are fairly comfortable, room and bathroom could be cleaner The fabric windowseat covering was disgusting! Did not want to sit on it or place purse on it!

Great visit. Great customer service by JJ at the desk ! When we arrived we noted that the hotel had some windows covered with plastic and thought it was under renovation We were concerned it would be noisy early in the mornings. From the minute we walked inside to register we met JJ who was working the front desk. JJ explained that the outside of the hotel was being painted. JJ provided us with exceptional customer service and assigned us a comfortable extremely clean room. JJ suggested some restaurants after we asked for his advice. We took one of his suggested and had a great Mexican dinner nearby. The breakfast was great and the area was spotless. We were so happy with the hotel we stayed an additional night. JJ is a gentleman and a tremendous asset to the hotel. You will not regret staying here !

4 day stay This property was very worn and common areas did not appear particularly clean. While advertised as smoke free, one of our two rooms smelled badly of cigarette smoke and we were given an alternate room. The breakfast items such as mini-muffins were poor, and the coffee pots were frequently empty. The staff seemed generally indifferent. I would recommend staying elsewhere.
