Homewood Suites by Hilton Newark-Cranford

Aging hotel, needs rehab As a Hilton Honors Diamond member, I enjoy staying at different properties throughout Hilton's portfolio. Needing to be in this part of New Jersey with an early start to my day, I decided to stay here. As I always do, the day before arrival I checked in and chose my room via the app. Important to me was to be on the side away from the Garden State Parkway. I was able to park on that side and went in a side door with my Digital Key and up to my chosen room. The hotel appears to be bit worn, like it needs a refresh of its carpet, furniture, paint, etc. My room's furniture had chips in the wood . HVAC, run by a thermostat in the living room, was hard to control , in that the temperature was either too cold or stuff. It was so noisy it had to be turned to a high temperature setting on a warm night, so that it would not awaken me. The suite was amply sized for me. I didn't really much use the kitchen or living room but spent most of my time in the bedroom. The bathroom was strange, in that the area with the sink was a wide foyer (which one has to pass through to get to the bedroom) but the part with the toilet and bathtub was small. The bathroom door had to be closed in order to be able to step in and out of the shower. The sink counter because it was in a larger area had enough room to put down my toiletries. TV and WiFi worked fine, as did online check-out from the app. The front desk was only encountered once when I purchased some snack items, and the staff was friendly. Overall, the stay was not terrible, but having stayed in newer and rehabilitated Hilton family properties, it was a disappointment to me.

WARNING!!DO NOT STAY HERE This was the most disgusting Homewood I have EVER stayed in. The room was absolutely disgusting. The carpet and furniture was filthy. It smelled horrible. The furniture was ripped to shreds like a cat had just scratched and tore it. I have also reported the hotel to Hilton regarding their “renting the room out in 3 hour blocks.” This is DISTURBING. I travel for a living and I have NEVER been told that I could NOT have a late checkout because my room was being rented for this purpose. I was told by an associate Austin that I had to “USE ANOTHER WEBSITE” to rent the room. I was horrified when he told me this. I have never been so upset about another hotel in 20 years. DO NOT STAY HERE. I have notified my travel agent to NEVER use this hotel for any of my business partners ever again.

Worst hotel ever in every aspect The worst hotel i have ever stayed in. Please please stay away. Nothing is good about this hotel. Very dated with broken tiles in the bathrooms filthy corridors and breakfast is shockingly bad. Paper plates and plastic cutlery and poor qulaity breakfast. No safe in the room so you cant leave anything important or precious. Unfortunately nothing positive i can write about. Dint waste your money, find another hotel.

Bed Bugs and really filthy furniture. 100% has bed bugs in room 221. The logistics of reaching the hotel is as difficult to describe as it is to execute from a vehicle. Once there, the parking is also difficult to reach. Part of the lot is closed with yellow tape. The property isn't well maintained to say the least. Dogs are allowed which I have no issue with, but the methods of cleaning need to be better to ensure the dog hair isn't in places it shouldn't remain. The furniture has several burned cigarette marks and the upholstery needs cleaned in a really urgent manner. I'd sleep in my car before I stay here again.

Very Satisfying Stay Great staff and customer service. Loved the hot breakfast every morning especially the warm out of the oven muffins if you get there wt 6:05 am. Suite is wonderful just like a one bedroom apt. My only complaint is the lighting in the bathroom was not fully functioning and in the bedroom there is no light anywhere near the full length mirror.
