Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham Culpeper

I’d stay here again! My first experience with this chain of hotels. I was very pleased with my visit. Friendly staff, clean room & great breakfast. I am so particular about the cleanliness of the room. I was not disappointed. Close to Hwy 29 for our drive home. I would stay here again in a heartbeat. _

They didn’t fix a running toilet Our experience at Microtel in Culpepper was very mixed. The room was comfortable. The staff were nice. There was ample parking. The free coffee was good. I was very surprised that the front entrance did not have an automatic door to open and I didn’t see any button to push to have the door open. I’m not sure how this is ADA compliant. It also made it challenging to get our luggage in/out of the building. We had a room on the 3rd floor, we had a lot of opportunities to use the elevator. The button for the 1st floor got a lot of use and didn’t consistently work. Now for the bigger problem. The toilet ran and ran. Jiggling the handle didn’t work. We had to take the top off and manually fix the problem. We told the morning staff about this. When we returned to the room later that day we found it wasn’t fixed. We flushed and it kept running. We told the person working the desk. She learned that the maintenance person fixed it, and the manager told her it just took a long time for the toilet to fill. I simply cannot believe that they consider a still running toilet “fixed” and how is “it takes a long time to fill” an acceptable answer???? The person working the front desk offered to put us in another room. We went to that room and found it reeked of cigarette smoke. We opted for a running toilet over a smelly room. Next time we stay in Culpepper we will choose a different hotel.

Horse Show Travel We had a pleasant experience and a peaceful evening after the horse show. We found the accommodations to be very comfortable and clean.

great staff, odd bathrooms Overnight trip for family event. Check in was great (communication prior to check in was also great). Hotel parking lot was packed, due to local horse show the same weekend, but the hotel was never crowded or loud. Staff were very helpful relative to parking, and the free breakfast was as one would expect at this level of hotel, but the food was fresh and well presented. Only complaint is that the vanity top in the bathroom encroaches on the toilet, which was less than ideal. Nothing that the current staff can do about that though.

Great! Customer service was amazing! Check-In and Check-Out took seconds! I would definitely come here again
