Hampton Inn Daytona Shores - Oceanfront

Meh! Based on reviews, I expected higher quality, and this hotel was not that. A lot of "handyman" fixes instead of professional. As soon as you enter, you are greeted with a smell, not horrible, but just not pleasant. The room smells musty. The bed crunches and squeaks when you sit and lay, very uncomfortable. definitely due for replacement. Would not recommend breakfast, as "hot" items were cold. Positives: Super nice staff, large big screen, and AC runs really good. The view was also pretty good.

Run from dump I arrived requested a high floor room; told only room 212 was available for me. Front desk gave a yellow paper for my dash otherwise car would be towed. $20 for parking??? Never happened before. The young lady was extremely condescending / rude. Pulled the covers off one bed only to find soiled sheets disgusting, Didn’t call front desk bc as the woman stated that was the only room available for me. Pictures included here in my review. Go to shower and tub w dark hair - I’m platinum blonde (pictures also here). No manager available as I left. As a member of Hilton brand contacted corp placed my complaint. I doubt I’ll hear from management - don’t stay here - what a dump. The AC unit is a petri-dish - my allergies flared up. Disgusting property spend your hard $$$ elsewhere.

Great Staff We stayed here for a week and I must say Vanessa is amazing. She is was a pleasure to speak with. She helped me with issue with our reservation prior to arrival. We were staying at the hyatt down the road they have no pool and she promised me that would not be the case at the hampton. She took care of my family for our week long stay and because of her we will be back. Free breakfast every morning is a plus.

BEWARE FOR HILTON HHONORS USING DIGITAL KEY BEWARE for Hilton HHonors members checking in on a digital key....DO NOT go right to your room as advertised....go to the front desk to get a parking pass or your car WILL BE TOWED! The hotel has an arrangement with a very aggressive towing company and you car will be towed if you don't have the pass. The Uber driver who drove us to get our car back said that this is a regular thing in this area, so just be fore-warned. And the front desk staff will do absolutely NOTHING to help you. They even charged for the night of parking when my car had already been towed and wasn't even at the hotel. I would not stay at this hotel again just based on the complete lack of caring showed by the front desk staff...if they care so little for the guests in this area, I can't imagine they show much care anywhere else either.

Beautiful Sunrises Sunrises from the balcony are amazing. The absolute best part of this inn. The balcony does have chairs, but no table(we used our cooler) and the a/c can be distracting. There is an outdoor room entrance corridor that faces the river to see sunsets. It's a beach hotel so keeping up with cleaning is a challenge. Yet they do well on the lobby and breakfast area. Though folks coming in to eat in swimsuits and bare feet make cleaning really difficult. Breakfast ladies do a great job with replenishment and a good, complimentary, hot variety is nice. The rooms are clean-housekeeping works hard. The pool is right by the ocean, so sand is to be expected. But the dirt and grime on the pool walls is a bit yuck. On our many previous visits, pool deck cleaning was done at 6am. That no longer happens. There are not enough pool chairs(the standard: on backorder) and folks will reserve chairs very early & there are many disagreements. There are no rules about reserving a chair that some sat in for a short time between or after beach lounging. Parking is in 4 different areas and sometimes gets tight right by the entrance. Staff can be enthusiastic and helpful or uncaring, unknowledgeable and need prompting. But there is always staff available. The beach wall has been rebuilt after last year's hurricanes, but the next door vacation club is still being repaired.
