1 Star Service Does Not Match the Beauty of This Iconic Hotel The Brown Palace takes your breath away. It is iconic and magnificent and if you love hotels with character, then you will love the Brown Palace. Unfortunately, if the comfort of the room is important to you, think twice. You never know what you are going to get. Some of the rooms are fine, but many of them are falling a part, with, for example, non-working thermostats (meaning no heat in the middle of winter). On top of that, the service is a 1 Star disaster. The right hand does not know what the left hand is doing and Management does not care. It is truly a shame. We are locals who have been staying at the Brown Palace at least twice a year for many years. Each year, the service gets worse, but each year we put up with it, because there is still so much to love about this historical place. Unfortunately, our most recent stay in December will be our last stay, and I can no longer recommend it. Note to Alfonso the General Manager and LLubia the Front Desk Supervisor: please do not waste your time with empty apologies. I have tried to reach out to both of you several times to provide constructive feedback. I have gotten no response.

The Brown Palace is a must Love this hotel. Rooms were amazing. Easily some of the best hotel beds i have slept on. Have made two trips to the Brown Palace. Food was great, cigar lounge amazing. The staff were very friendly and extremely knowledgeable of the hotels history. One young lady stood out in particular, Samuella, I had multiple encounters with her. She was extremely helpful during check in. Explained everything in great detail, from hotel amenities to the daily history tour. If you are thinking about staying at the Brown Palace, this hotel is a must stay and see. Excuse the messy bed in the pictures. I decided to take pictures after I woke up. The room in the pictures is the Regan Suite.

No more Brown Palace for us This is my third time staying at the Brown Palace and I’m sad to say it will be my last. The quality has fallen way off since I last stayed here in 2022. Our room had a busted deadbolt (which was fixed upon our complaint), a visible giant power cord between the beds, and visible wires protruding from the outlets in the bed (which they used electrical tape to conceal). Housekeeping made up one bed but then apparently left, because our other bed was not made up. The mattresses are super thin and the beds are lumpy and uncomfortable. The location is great, the atrium is beautiful, and the food and service was exceptional at both Ship’s Tavern and Ellington’s. But the room was just tired and run down. I don’t plan on staying again.

Not just a hotel—it is truly a palace I was initially planning to book the Ritz-Carlton for my visit to Denver, having stayed there before. However, I was pleasantly surprised by the Brown Palace Hotel, part of the Autograph Collection. This is not just a hotel—it is truly a palace. Built in the late 1800s, the Brown Palace features luxuries that were far ahead of its time. It is no wonder that Presidents, royalty, and some of the world’s top businesspeople have chosen to stay here while visiting Denver. This time, I had the privilege of joining their ranks. My arrival began with a taxi ride from Elmi, who dropped me at the side entrance. The doormen, though busy, still made time to assist. As I stepped inside, I expected to find a typical hotel lobby, but was greeted instead by what I thought was a lively Christmas party. In reality, it was the cheerful and bustling High Tea at the Brown Palace. I was captivated by the hotel’s architecture, with its inner balconies adorned with Cornelian ironwork, gold trimmings, and other modern conveniences that were remarkable for the era of its construction. My room was quiet, comfortable, and equipped with excellent amenities. I dined at the Churchill bar, ordered fish and chips in true British style and it was on par with what you would find at a good Australian seaside eatery. The surrounding area felt safe, and I was able to walk to nearby restaurants in the evening. The location is ideal, placing you close to everything you might need for business or leisure. It transform to a wonderland at Christmas time, with a huge Christmas tree adorning the atrium. The Brown Palace is truly a special member of the Autograph Collection. I strongly recommend staying here on your next visit to Denver.
