Dated but nice Front desk was very friendly. This hotel is older and dated. However it is very clean and the room with 2 double beds is very comfortable. It is relatively close to downtown and Drake U. We will definitely stall again. Price per night makes it a bargain.

Nice cozy place just minutes from Downtown We've stayed here quite a few times, mostly when we want to hang out downtown but don't want to pay the high prices or hear traffic noise. This place is on a quiet street just on the edge of the Drake campus, so most of the time it's a very relaxing place to spend the weekend. This weekend was more noisy due to a huge wedding party going on, but the staff managed it as well as they could. Overall, despite our challenges with the toilet and the noise, it was a pleasant experience and I won't hesitate to book this place for our next weekend in Des Moines

Within Walking Distance of Drake University This Holiday Inn Express, a 2 story facility, is just a few blocks away from Drake University and would be perfect for parents who want to visit or have a student there! We were told that the facility before becoming a Holiday Inn, was once a dormitory. It did have the feel of a dormitory as we walked the hall to our room. The room was clean and comfortable. There was some noise in the hallway from other people talking, but other than that, it was quiet. They offered a hot breakfast in the breakfast room on the first floor. There is an exercise room on the second floor which we didnt use. Also within walking distance is the Drake Diner.

Close to activities at Drake University It's an ok hotel. The bed was very comfortable. The carpet in the room had dried gum stuck to it in 2 places. It was 3 blocks away from my training, but there weren't really any decent restaurants close by.

If your business at at Drake U this is the place If like me your in town for something at Drake Univ this is the hotel to stay in. Right off the campus with lots of foo options close by (Drake Diner is right next door). Place is clean( some HI are a bit outdated not this one), quiet, good internet speed, pretty much all you could want. The only negative is I asked the young women at the front desk the evening before I was leaving if she could arrange a cab to the airport for me (yes I am old and still use cabs not Uber). She said she would but the cab never showed. I should have known to call myself since when I said taxi she had a very confused look on her face. Anyway if I get back to Des Moines I will stay here for sure
