ok for overnight, wouldn't stay longer So here's a post-covid review of the Royal Inn. Room was adequate, nothing extravagant. Check in was in the foyer, not allowed access to the lobby itself. This meant no breakfast whatsoever even though it's mentioned in the listing. The hotel wasn't close to any restaurants that I could see (saw them further down toward the interstate when I was leaving the next day.) It was ok to spend one night but I wouldn't make it a destination accommodation.

Good Value, Very Good Handicap/Elderly in Chair Service My bride and I on fixed income in retirement and touring my past. Being a factory working man all my life means not a pampered pet, so my values of a good place and bad one might be different than some. The Place is now called Royal Inn and Suites. We stayed in one of the Handicap suites (as available, and with a single king--short reservation(made the day before on the drive heading to Tuscaloosa and MY One Crimson Tide of Alabama) and I have to tell you, it was an impressive room. The hotel is an economical but well placed just off the interstate 75. Nice area, close to lots of quality stuff, from the "Liquor" Store to fastfood or even quality local strip mall mexican , asian, a Checkers..... In other-words, a perfect stop on a "Here to there" if you are tired, but would like to know IF you Pull off or google and find as you are getting tired.... (Yeah, that's what I do.... do you?) <Smile> At entry, friendly and competent. A kewl side aspect here was there was a family grown "East Indian" garden along the fence across the parking lot with Vegetables of their cultural style-- available and picked by those that saw, new, and chose to. That was kind of a unique thing I had not seen before when travelling and stopping in a hotel that was owned and run by what we learned in my ancient age was "near east" persons. The other folks that day were workers, people travelling, saw dawgs, and no problems. One thing that made me special smile was their "Continental Breakfast." A specific "cafeteria" room, with a hostess, -- Now it was a person who cared for there were three elderly and one in wheel chair in the little roomof a couple tables, fridge and couple of microwaves. So, Jimmy Dean Pure Pork Sausage microwaveables, World famous Toaster Waffles, condiments, and the awesome Kellogg boxes with real milk in the fridge and such.... In other words, I guess I gave this Very Good because the people and the important things to most Working folks was met most fine in this stop from here to there. And I would also like to give a special mention to the lady in the room with those elderly folks and the chairperson. I Do NOT know her name, But She was about the most compassionate and wonderful patient person I have ever seen, (and I have seen much.....). I Will STAY HERE again if I come this way again

Good Deal For Me I was looking for something close to Six Flags. I booked late at night through Priceline. It was just me and my daughter. When we got there they upgraded us to a King Suite. Our room was clean and spacious. Bed was hard but that is common for places in this price range. I would come back again.

Good deal for the money I live in douglasville so I was familiar with this hotel. I needed a cheap room to spend the night due to a small fire in my home. The royal inn had the cheapest rates. When we arrived at the property check in was a breeze. I had called ahead to inquire about accessible accommodations. The clerk saved the room for us even though we arrived 30 minutes later than we anticipated. The property was very clean and quiet. Our room was quite clean and the AC was ice cold. The beds were super firm and a little uncomfortable. A large roll in shower and elevated toilet was very accommodating for my disability. A great TV with HBO made for some good entertainment. Even though the room was on the front of the property it was peaceful and quiet. We were able to get a good nights rest without being disturbed by noise. A free breakfast of waffles and cereal made for a good start to the next day. Unfortunately there was no in room coffee maker as advertised. There is a gas station convince store across the street that had coffee and pastries. Since my house was still in disarray we requested another night. Housekeeping did a wonderful job cleaning up and having us set for another night. 11:00am checkout allowed us time to rest enjoy breakfast and get packed to return home without feeling rushed. I would gladly stay at the royal inn again if I need a cheap place to sleep. It was a pleasant surprise and a good value for the money. No in room coffee maker extremely hard beds and a very limited breakfast menu were the only cons against this motel. Clean quiet a good staff and cheap prices are among the pros. Highly recommended.
