Historic downtown atmosphere Beautiful historic downtown Dubuque, Iowa. Walking distance to several restaurants and bars including the Diamond Jo Casino. Hotel of course has a shuttle to areas close by. Stayed here before and this last stay I found the lobby remodeled. Very posh. Love the colors and lighting. Staff friendly and helpful. Stayed in a newly remodeled room with a spacious bathroom and walk in shower. Has a wonderful restaurant with amazing food. Nice little hotel bar too. Breakfast buffet or can order off the menu. I would definitely suggest off the menu. It is dog friendly as I saw some patrons with their fur babies. Parking ramp is being updated. We had no problem with parking. They have a small pool and fitness center (which I never used.) All in all great stay for the money and the downtown atmosphere.

Average at best, has potential. I am a huge fan of IHG properties, really had looked forward to our stay and it disappointed despite the good we saw here. Weekend one night with our 3 y/o to experience the National Mississippi River Museum - Aquarium and take advantage of a pool for swim lessons. Booked a king accessible room, assigned the second floor overlooking parking, some of downtown, rail yard. View actually fun for a 3 y/o to take it all in. Check-in by fantastic front desk service, I didn’t catch her name but she is exactly what you want for customers to be greeted by. Pros: Location is spot on for being downtown and walkability to dining, entertainment and aquarium (also 3 minute drive). Easily booked with IHG Reward Points. Cons: The ongoing renovation is advertised and accurate as of April 21. The issue was the extent of public renovation (IE the lobby area) there is no temporary floor covering, exposed outlets and debris just swept into the corners. We’ve stayed at properties under reno before, but there’s some mitigation ongoing to keep the hotel clean. The pool area is just outside the reno and found debris around pool that just shouldn’t be present. Unsure if the rooms are targeted for reno or have been on 2nd floor, the common spaces look amazing. Room itself shows water damage around the windows and bathroom ceiling. Furniture shows its age in wearing. The breakfast buffet, and kids eat free. I’m more disappointed here, as the $14.95 buffet is exactly what you would find at most other IHG properties for free. It is literally the same breakfast spread we had at Mall of America, Hilo, Astoria and many others for free. Here it’s served in the onsite restaurant and charged $14.95 per adult. And for others to be aware of. Pool capacity is 10. Management has it posted if that is exceeded they will close pool for 48 hour period. Overall mixed feelings here on this property. Has potential to be great, but at present hesitant to recommend to others.

Lovely hotel and great location Quiet and clean - checked both boxes of our requirements. Nice place for a one night stay prior to visiting the Field of Dreams movie site in nearby Dyersville, Iowa. Very friendly front desk staff also! Hotel was recently refurbished and looks very nice. Ample and easy parking. Nice restaurants in walking distance and historic Main Street location. Highly recommend!

Good Experience This was a positive experience. The hotel is undergoing renovation but does seem fully functional. Our room seemed a little quirky in that it was arranged fairly different from most hotel suites. Still it worked very well for us. It was very comfortable. The hotel does not include breakfast but it does have a good restaurant. You can choose between a very good buffet or order off the menu. I was a little hesitant when we first drove up to the hotel. Like many cities, the downtown does feel in decline, but we felt very safe in the hotel and same for our car in the lot. I would stay there again.
