Good location to downtown but noisy by Highway 550 Room condition was good but noisy. We asked for a room away from Highway 550 but due to a shortage of housekeeping staff the only rooms available when we checked in faced the highway. I don't know how the plumbing was routed in this hotel but everytime the room above, below or next to us used their water it sounded like a jet taking off, easily the loudest I've ever heard in a hotel. Breakfast was decent. Really enjoyed that they kept replenishing the lobby popcorn machine. My biggest issue with this hotel was that when I went to the front desk to ask for more coffee pods I noticed a sign that said we were going to be charged $2 a day for hotel safe unless we asked for it to be removed at check out. No one mentioned this at check in and I just happened to read it while waiting for the coffee pods. This was not included in our room confirmation or quoted price. When I asked about this the front desk agent said "It's a third party company that owns the safes" and "most hotels do not have safes anymore". So I was quite angry when I had to wait in line at check out to have this charge removed. This credit took several days to appear as a credit on my credit card statement because they had already billed me for it days earlier with the room.

Some glitches but everything worked out fine. Fabulous staff There were some housekeeping issues and the front desk staff seemed very surprised so I think these will be dealt with and everything will be ok. On the plus side the shower has awesome water pressure, comfortable beds, spacious rooms. TV volume was great for us old timers. The shampoo and conditioner are the type attached to the wall and it smelled so good. We travel a LOT for work so my suggestion before unpacking is to check TV works/toilet is good/shower is good/AC is good. These weren't the issues with this hotel but in general it will save time especially if you are exhausted. There is a microwave and fridge. They were OUT of coffee when my husband went down to get it for me. Finally new coffee was brought out and it was very weak. We owned a hotel that was very successful and I knew that coffee is a BIG deal. That is NOT something to skimp on. The location was great. Get there early as parking can be an issue especially if you have a larger vehicle like we did. I review a LOT of hotels world wide and restaurants. This is a fine place to stay but just check out the things you will be needing to use while there. Hotel staff was excellent.

A good value choice in Durango A nice property with friendly desk staff. A bit off downtown, so a drive was necessary to hit any restaurants. Decently comfortable bed, but flat pillows, mediocre AC, shower and towels. Breakfast was the high point with very good selection and quality.

Comfortable Stay There's nothing very special about this place. I booked this room last-minute when my previous accommodations fell through. The staff was very kind and they made sure that I enjoyed my stay. The walls were fairly thin, but I got a good night's sleep regardless.
