Fraud In late April I booked a room through hotels.com, which listed a set of amenities and provided pictures that were wholly inconsistent with the actual details of the property. In fact, "wholly inconsistent" is a gross understatement. The place is currently being completely gutted, with building materials, large furniture, appliances, and trash (both domestic and commercial) strewn throughout the facility, including in stairwells and hallways. It's not too much to say that it is (or was) completely uninhabitable. I left after three minutes because of the unsafe and arguably illegal conditions, but neither hotels.com nor The Syracuse Inn would refund my money. So not only does the motel fail to meet the very minimum standards of lodging conditions; it is also an unethical enterprise that doesn't deem it necessary to satisfy a customer with absolutely legitimately complaints. I am currently pursuing legal action against The Syracuse Inn and hotels.com, the latter which continues to allow the facility on its platform, despite being made aware of the gross misrepresentations and unsafe conditions. So I guess there will be more unhappy customers.
