Quiet Comfortable and Easy Access to downtown! We had lots of choices of places to stay but the price cleanliness and amenities here really made it our #1 choice. Stayed here four nights to tour El Paso and had a special liking for El Segundo Barrios. Can't say enough good things about this hotel. Front desk staff was friendly and visibly happy to be there and it showed! Hotel was spotless, our room was large and clean with fridge microwave and hairdryer. No road noise even though location is next to a highway, good mattress and nice bathroom with plenty of fluffy towels. Breakfast was abundant even though it was a simple one with yogurt apples Danish pastries and instant oatmeal. Nice to have a full day coffee dispenser in the lobby. Only small issue are the drawers of the cupboard which have missing knobs or handles. These oversights can be easily fixed if the maids are trained to report every fault in the room which requires immediate rectification so the room is well maintained at all times.

Beware of money you can lose if life happens Beware of making reservations online by calling hotel directly. Always get cancellation insurance because life happens. Phone line cut out and conversation was spotty but reservation was made and confirmed but I learned five minutes later I could not use my reservation and because the cancellation insurance was not included I could not cancel and full room rate was charged for a week. Lost a lot of money. No other hotel operates this way that I know of to prevent cancellation and refund of charges 100%. Literally highway robbery right next to highway. Blogs will be written about Americas Hotel so avoid it as you can lose all you money on your reservation if you don't pay extra for cancellation insurance. It must be criminally run, owned and operated given the way they take advantage of elderly people and families with loved ones in University Medical Center El Paso TX hospital that don't buy extra insurance. Elder fraud maybe?

HORRIBLE receptionist, great hotel otherwise! While the hotel itself is pretty nice, has a good location and was the best option for our trip's purposes, the receptionist who checked us in treated us VERY poorly. She had an attitude since we came, talked to us as if we were 5 year-olds, and even when we requested her name to make a complaint she mockingly pointed at her shirt, which had nothing written on it. No name bad, no embroidery. She truly was disgusting. She even thanked us for making our day bad. When I recorded her being mean to us, she got offended and tried to change what she was saying to her favour, but it was honestly a very terrible experience.

Personnel Belongings stolen By Hotel staff I accidently left a valuable knife at the hotel. At First they denied Finding but when I insisted that that I know I left it. They said they found it. But when I got it back they switched Knives for a old cheap one. Either the maid stole it or another employee. Traveler beware do not leave valuable in the room they are thieves At El Paso America's Hotel.

Worst hotel ever Went to check in and Tina at front desk was extremely rude was on personal call before she assisted me. Rolled her eyes at me, hissed when I told her I needed to check in. Should have never checked in, room was in bad shape. Bed cover ripped and black stains, ac didn’t work well, doors were messed up, shower was messed up with cracks, hole above ceiling in shower. Breakfast bar not it had a drink and yogurt. Called front desk and more attitude. WILL NEVER AGAIN!
