Well-Furnished Rooms In Prime Location This was my first stay at the Holiday Inn Express Suites in Eugene's University District, and I ended up glad I decided to stay here two nights during a regular Memorial Day weekend visit with my family. The single room that was assigned to me had a comfortable bed, a relaxing easy chair situated right next to the third-floor window, good lighting, a large desk, ample closet space, a small shelf near the TV with a convenient outlet just above it for charging a cellphone, a coffee-maker, micro-wave and refrigerator all in one central location and an immaculate bathroom with plenty of floor and counter space. In addition to those feature, which by themselves earn this earn this well-maintained lodging facility a high rating it's also conveniently located within a block or two from several restaurants, a grocery store, a Dutch Bros. coffee facility and entrance to a network of walking trails along the nearby Willamette River in back of the lodge. So the next time I come down to Eugene for a visit, I will definitely consider staying at this Holiday Inn location again.

We've had better stays at this hotel Well I suppose you strike out every once in a while. While we've had good stays at this property before, our recent stay was sub-par. Room cleanliness was the biggest issue. Starting out with flecks of black stuff on the bed's white duvet cover. The flecks were more than likely from the nearby wall AC/Heater unit that hadn't been cleaned in a long time. Even with turning the AC Heater fan down to low, black flecks still came out overnight. The next day, while we were out, they replaced the AC unit. This fixed it, and we were happy about that, but still an inconvenience. Other cleanliness issues that I brought to the attention of the front desk: (1) Urine stains on the underside of the toilet lid (2) broken ice bucket in the room along with no bag for the ice bucket (3) An empty Skittles candy bag near the room's microwave that was evidently left behind by the previous customer. I could go on, but I'll stop there. You get the point. Overall, just too many little things that were "off", and missed housekeeping items. The hotel is overdue for a refresh. Because of the hotel's proximity to the college and MK arena, it is very popular for a good reason. But this popularity leads to a lot of use and the hotel is starting to unfortunately show this.

Comfortable room near the University The location was great- very accessible to the university and the freeway. Parking lot had ample parking and checkin was easy. The 2 Queens plus sofa bed room was spacious and comfortable. The bathroom supplied soap, lotion, shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. The free breakfast had a wide variety of hot food, toast, fruit, yogurt, and cereal as well as coffee, juice, and tea.

$171 for a Dirty, moldy bathroom, missing top sheet & towels. We could not beleive they had positive reviews?! $172 for one night in FILTH! One of the beds was missing a top sheet, there was only 1 large bath towel so we had to borrow towels from the pool to use for our showers, the toilet had set so long there was a pinkish/yellow mold around the top of the water and little black bits inside the toilet bowl. Pink mold in the shower that easily wiped out with a hand towel. A moldy, used coffee pod in the coffee maker, there was mold and a huge brown spill all over the bottom of the microwave under the glass turner. There was no way to have a light on next to the bed without having all of the other lights on as wells, you could not just shut the extra lights off. The TV remote did not work properly. Huge stain on the carpet, everything was dusty and had greasy finger prints on it. The room card said it was cleaned by Alicia and had a smiley face next to her name. We checked in a left the hotel without checking the room and arrived back too late to get a room change or the room cleaned or even a top sheet on the bed. Who doesn't put 2 sheets on the bed? Absolutely a HORRIBLE, dirty room. I can not believe they haven't refunded our money, it was just awful! Let us not forget the nosy vehicles screeching in and out of the apartment complex behind the hotel all night, revving their engines and such and then, apparently, it was "garbage day" because they were dragging dumpsters to the street crashing and banking all the way. Our Itinerary Number:11545572397 We stayed one night, May 22nd.

Clogged toilet for 2-night stay!? Checked in at 9:30 pm after an all day conference. Found the room's toilet clogged. Front desk said they'd fix it NEXT DAY. Had to use the toilet down the hall all night and morning. Returned late the next evening after a long day at the conference to find toilet still not fixed. Went to bed, exhausted, using toilet down the hall again until check out the following morning. Contacted Sales Manager Melissa after returning home. She asked me to send her an email with more detail (who we reported issue to, etc.), and said she'd look into it - got no reply. Called her again a week later and she said she would get back to me but was very busy. Never heard back. Called customer service 2 weeks later to follow up and was given a reference number and told the issue would be reported to the general manager and THEY would follow up. Again, crickets. I called the hotel today, now 6 weeks after the stay, and spoke with Melissa again. She told me she had "just gotten to the bottom of it" and found that the "staff was new and didn't know where to find the supplies" to fix the toilet. She concluded that because we didn't follow-up and tell them the 2nd night that the toilet had still not been fixed that it was no ones fault, simply a "failure to communicate." She offered me a discount off my next stay at that specific hotel, but said she could not do anything else. If a toilet is broken, and the staff acknowledges that the problem was appropriately and quickly reported, it is the hotel's responsibility to fix the problem. If they don't, the hotel should refund the stay. PERIOD. On top of it all, we also got a parking ticket for parking in their lot. Incredible!
