Holiday Inn Express Evansville West by IHG

We won't return Meh... We came to the area because our son will be attending USI. He ran a race, and it was at night, so we needed a space to shower, sleep, rest, and then return home. We arrived and had to get to an event, so we dropped our things and left. We returned after the race and noticed popcorn all over the floor. The floor had been stained and looked awful. The room would not cool. We set the thermostat to the lowest temperature, and it still wouldn't cool off. There was no remote. We had to call the front desk to get one. The bathroom had hair on the floor, so I notified the front desk. This was enough. They did knock off a substantial amount, but I would have rather had a clean room where I could sleep and rest rather than the discount. The breakfast was horrible. Even the coffee was not hot, just like warm. The workers were always on their phones or hanging out with their friends when we came in around 10:15 pm. I slept about 3 hours, and honestly, I don't know how. We heard the neighbors shower and doors slamming as well as the kids above us. The next time we are in town, we will definitely not stay here, which is a shame because it's so close to the university. I hope someone from Management sees this review and takes these things to heart.

If you enjoy space, this one may not be for you. I stay in Holiday Inn express a minimum of 3 times per month so I'm quite familiar with the different layouts, room sizes, etc. This room was easily the smallest square footage 2 queen beds with small bathroom. Thermostat in room was inoperable. When seeking properties with families, this one is really tight and we would not choose again because of space/size. Room was clean, employees were super friendly.

Typical hotel stay I like staying at holiday inn expresses. They always have comfy beds and a decent breakfast. This one was as expected. Good nights sleep in a nice bed. Breakfast was okay. Could of had more selection. We didn’t see the pool area. We arrived about 1 am and the girl that did our check in was not very friendly.

mediocre service & housekeeping. hotel in need of a refresh When we arrived there was nobody at the desk. There was a sign that said they were helping another customer and would be back soon. We had to wait almost 15 minutes (even after calling) to check-in. The clerk when he arrived didn't acknowledge that we had to wait. In our room there was a used soap in the shower (wrapper in the garbage). One of the lights by the bed didn't work - turned out it was unplugged. There were 2 regular and only 1 decaf coffees. Found a quarter under the chair foot rest (must not have been moved when the room was cleaned). The light-weight curtain was badly ripped. In the bathroom the top of the floor molding was dirty. Tile in the entry way was broken. The air conditioner was noisy and didn't dehumidify the room so that the room felt cold but clamy.

Pleasantly surprised We had a great stay. I loved the JR Watkins toiletries in the bathroom and that I actually had enough shampoo and conditioner for everyone. Our room was updated and super clean. Front Desk staff was pleasant. We were so happy they were pet friendly.
