Gateway- awesome stay well located My 3-day stay ended up being 7 days and it was a very positive experience. The staff, especially Eddie, were kind, helpful and met my daily needs. The Continental Breakfast was a bit small but considering that Gateway is renivating their kitchen and dining room it made sense. Their menu and chief, Todd, were excellent, can't say enough about their food. (Portabella mushroom burger.) Rooms, pool area, lounge and out access were all neat, clean and inviting. A favorable place for a getaway for couples and families. Their Convention hall was amazing, big enough for not only conversations, but parties and weddings as well. Beautiful atmosphere! Thank you Gateway, I will use you again!

Hotel is a Scam My recent stay at the hotel was an unpleasant one. The AMEX travel.website, where I booked the room, advertised that dog up to 50 pounds could stay for $25, but upon check-in, the clerk attempted to charge me $50. To make matters worse,my room was not clean, with a dirty T-shirt left by a previous guest on the floor. The bed was uncomfortable, and appeared to be built on a makeshift frame made of two-by-fours. The carpet was also dirty, and the room had a distinct smell of mildew. The heat/AC unit was from the 1970s and had filthy buttons and was so loud that I heard had to turn off. The clerk was very impolite, and the hotel failed to provide the off-leash dog area that was advertised on the website. Additionally, the pictures on the site were outdated, and appeared to be from the years that it was a Holiday Inn as the restaurant and bar were no longer operational. I strongly advise against staying at this hotel and will not be returning.

Exceptional!! The room was clean and inviting. "Billy" was awesome, he was always there to lend a helping hand. The Continental breakfast was delicious! I would definitely recommend this hotel! Kudos to Gateway! I will stay there again!!

Go Elsewhere. I came from Texas for a wedding, stayed for the weekend, hotel looked pretty decent but no it is first rooms need be cleaned better changed rooms three time due to the uncleanness of the rooms, one of the rooms had a horrible smell and the rooms are very dated. the last room there was a chicken bone by the side of the refrigerator, asked for house keeping the next day did not get for some reason they said I wasn't on the list. next day was unable to get any towels , also paid my room deposit with cash, forgot to pick it up from the desk when i checked out , here it is till this day still waiting for them to send me the deposit, every time i call manger is never available, left several messages for a call back still has not returned my call called again they say it has been mailed out month later still have not received it. front desk never knows anything SAVE YOUR MONEY GO TO THE HILTON, BETTER SERVICE. NICER ROOMS WOULD NOT RECOMMEND STAYING IT MORE OF A HOTEL 6 JUST BIGGER.

50th High School Reunion Greg did an outstanding job with accommodating our needs for every last detail (and there were quite a few) to make the event a great success. Marvin and other servers bent over backwards to make sure we had everything we needed. Honestly, because of false reports about Flint water (Gateway uses Detroit water and always has), there were some who were worried. But from every last person, we heard only accolades. The rooms set aside for us were clean and inviting, our room was set up to everyone's amazement, and working back and forth was easy for planning. I'd gladly do another event here. Kudos to the people at Gateway!
