The Fetching and Fabulous Hotel Florence Hotel Florence is the quintessential southern boutique hotel situated in the heart of old town, downtown Florence, SC. Upon entering the lobby, a warm welcomed was received from the front desk personnel as though I was family or an old friend. The lobby is beautifully decorated with comfortable furniture perfect for lounging and chatting while waiting for your day to begin or your night to close. The building itself is rich in history and you’ll find these reminders throughout the entire establishment with architectural pieces incorporated into the current decor. There are gorgeous sitting areas in every wing/floor of the building where folks can gather for card games, or to enjoy the occasional complementary wine and hors de oeuvre reception. My room was quaint, clean, charming and had the most comfortable bed, pillows and high quality bedding. I enjoyed a ten day stay and looked forward to snuggling into my bed each night, I felt as though I was home. My housekeepers referred to me by name and paid attention to the amenities I consumed and made sure my room was always properly stocked, they were so kind and attentive. I utilized The Community Room hosting a reception, that is available for the Florence Hotel guests for events. It is attached to the hotel building, located near the Chamber of Commerce. Just outside the community room, it features a rustic courtyard and park, beautifully adorned with roses, foliage, benches, art and history. At every look and turn strolling the streets of downtown, you find yourself surrounded by history and art with lovely music emulating through speakers neatly tucked into the sidewalk landscaping. There are a variety of local restaurants and shops you can walk to in minutes, with shopkeepers eager to welcome you and truly engage, genuinely happy you’re visiting their town. I look forward to my next visit to my South Carolina home away from home, at the exquisite Hotel Florence.

A look at how it was This property is down town, nicely situated, but most of the stores around it are empty. Which is a pity. The building is slightly historic, i think a little more effort in making it the was it was 100 years ago would have been nice, it misses the mask slightly in that respect. The room we had 307 was okay, the place to hang clothes is laugh. It’s ladder sort of thing outside the bathroom with a few hangers dangling on it. The bathroom is large and modern with a nice pedestal sink, and smart Shower stall. Plus toilet, then they slipped up again. There is no room by the. Sink for a guests toiletries . A tiny table by the shower that hold a plug n Makeup Mirror, but nowhere to plug it or the hair dryer into. The view from one side of the room is of a rooftop hmm? The other window looks down on a courtyard. Breakfast is a bit of an adventure. In the restaurant you must go to the barb and order your drink and food then sign for it, from then it is a buffet . But! The heated food containers are sitting so close to the edge of the long table you need three hands to serve yourself, one to hold the plate while the other holds open the lid of the container, and the third hand to serve yourself. These are all minor faults in a respectful hotel that are easily rectified. As for the staff. They have got to-be some of the nicest people working in an hotel. The hotel is kept spotlessly clean. And the food IS very good. I would recommend this hotel to business groups.

Housekeeping and front desk staff needs to be better organized The front desk gave me keys to a room that was occupied. They moved us to another room that only had one bed when we needed two but that was the only room left. Floors were loud and squeaky, branches were scraping the windows, housekeeping came in twice, homeless people in the parking lot begging. Room did not have a fridge, chex mix on the floor when we checked in. Don't think I'll stay there again.

Excellent Stay with Excellent and Welcoming Front Desk Staff Incredible new hotel-fantastic stop over on drive from Florida to New York. I was greeted by an incredibly helpful front desk officer named Greg who made sure my stay was wonderful including calling our room after checking in to make sure we were all set and if we needed anything else. All hotels should have this kind of customer service like Greg and also his collegue Cashie who I spoke with the night before at the front desk helping me with my room selection for my reservation. They made sure my stay was excellent. Also the restaurant in the hotel was fantastic-one of the best meals I have had while traveling in a long time-just delicious!!

Historical Charm - But Not Perfect Tried it out of curiosity while in town on business. Always stay in Hilton properties and this one looked unique. Certainly has historic charm and unique character. Loved the elements they kept from years ago, the cool seating areas upstairs, staircases, and uneven floors. However the room especially the bathroom were too small for me. Similar to the Tru layouts. The heater appeared to not be working as it made a noise entire time and never adjusted to the temperature set on thermostat. Room was cold and little stuffy. At 1am woke to what I thought was someone on phone in hallway. Turned out it was the neighbors television and for the next hour or so heard their tv as if we were watching in same room so couldn’t sleep.
