Late check-in policy ruined our stay Check in was extremely late at 4 pm. Three stars are only because the associate at the outdoor pool let us in. It’s a beautiful location, close to the beach, but you can’t enjoy it if your child misses a nap. This late check-in policy ruined our stay. My daughter needed a nap at noon and we had to change in the parking lot. Outdoor pool was extremely crowded and needed cleaning, the same is with the indoor pool, see photos for the reference. The room was good and the sheets were clean. No cups/glasses of any kind, so I’m not sure how you can drink coffee in the room. They have a coffee shop in the lobby, lines building up quickly. Coffee tasty though. The food at the Waterfront was average. And they had music playing there during the day people seemed to enjoy it.

Disappointing Stay We’ve been staying at this hotel for years, but sadly our most recent visit was extremely disappointing and concerning. It feels like the quality and care have gone downhill significantly. The biggest issue was safety: the deadbolt on our door was broken, which was especially worrying since we were traveling with kids. Beyond that, the room itself was in very poor condition. There was a strange odor when we walked in, cobwebs and visible dust in the corners, and even mold in the bathroom. The sink was cracked, didn’t drain properly, and the toilet clearly hadn’t been cleaned. The indoor pool was run down and the bathrooms in there were dirty. The overall upkeep of the room was just unacceptable. The furniture was stained and run down, giving everything a neglected feel. For a hotel we’ve trusted and enjoyed in the past, this was a real letdown. We hope management takes these issues seriously, because at this point, it’s hard to see ourselves returning.

BLOOD ON OUR SHEETS! GROSS It was an awful experience! We walked into the hotel room and saw blood on our sheets. The general manager is not a nice person and he will belittle the hell out of you.

“Resort” really means you better re-sort your hotel search Photos on web really oversell what you get. Room dumpy. Beds lumpy, pleather furniture torn, stained carpet. Family pool tiny, goes up to 4 1/2 feet. Way too crowded to accommodate number of people on slides and playing basketball at 4 different hoops but then only saw 6-7 people in large adult only pool evenings we were there. No water one evening in room for showers and front desk could only say working on it. Cleaning crew knocked on door at 9am to clean. Arcade/immersion center/ cinema sounded awesome online-it’s really a small room playing a movie. Game room a bust. 4 of 10 games tried were inoperable. Pool table coin dispenser stuck, no triangle to rack balls anyway, no staff to assist. Staff couldn’t tell me if any of on site restaurants could accommodate our allergy. Note, don’t waste time showing up early to check in - they charge you for early check in. Didn’t matter, rooms weren’t ready early anyway. Way too expensive resort for what was received. We look forward to going to Lake Geneva again but will find another resort for our stay.

My husband and I needed to get away for the evening and stayed at the Abby on July 19th. I haven't been there in probably 20 years and it the rooms definitely look the same. For the prices they demand, the rooms are far from quality. Our room had a curbless shower, where the shower head faced straight towards the shower curtain, so all the water puddled around the bathroom floor and behind the toilet. It was laughable how poorly this was designed. We booked a harbor view room, and when we arrived, that room was not available. They booked us into a pool view room and gave us a discount. However, not only was the room we booked unavailable, but the room they gave us was not ready until 7 pm. (check in was at 4pm). Yes, they did discount our room, but when we asked for a late checkout because they were 3 hours behind in getting us our room, they would not give that to us. My total discounted price for this crappy room was $330. The restaurant we stopped at while we waited for our room was beyond average. Calamari was disgusting, and nachos were very average. I can't imagine ever staying here again. If you choose to stay here, you're staying for the location, not the amenities. Overall, I'm disappointed with our treatment and the facility as a whole; its not worth the price. As you can see the picture of our view our of our room was terrible, even though they discounted our room I think I was more upset they wouldn't give us the late checkout after delaying us 3 hours the night before. If you choose to stay there, don't expect much and expect to pay top dollar.
