Best Western Carowinds

Avoid this place! Clerk at check in very unfriendly. I was getting off of road earlier than anticipated and told I could not check in. Then I was told I could check in early if I paid him $25. Later after checking the reviews for this place out I saw one woman was told she had to give them an extra $100. Doesn't seem to be any quality control over the Best Western Hotels . Will be my last visit to Best Western .. Always check in early for Hampton Inn and Holiday Inn Express and the clerks are very friendly and helpful.

It's a fine hotel, not the best breakfast The room was clean and smelled clean. The furnishings feel old and out of date. My kids said the beds were comfy and the best part of this hotel. Hot showers. Cold AC. This hotel offers breakfast, but that was the most disappointing part. It wasn't good, we chose to eat out for breakfast most mornings. We're on a road trip this was just one of our spots on the way, and it's easy to compare one hotel experience to another. It's a good place to sleep, which is what you want most out of a hotel.

Needs a complete redo. Smelly,old,dirty inside When we travel all over the USA we’ve Never had such an awful experience as we did on April 12,2024. We arrived around 10:30 to see if we could get a room for half a day so husband could get a couple hours of sleep since he had been driving with no sleep. Desk person said we had to have a room full price. Talked to someone else about getting half rate for a few hours. Answer was no. Ok I still book it with him. He was fine. But the hotel had such a dirty stench after we got our room we go inside it and it was so bad. The hallway ,room everything was so smelly you were afraid to sit down. We got because he needed sleep. The furniture was old and dirty,smelly. The linens on bed looked like they were so old and used for something else. Broken toilet seat and cockroaches in hallway . Couldn’t even clean them up. Like I said we’ve Never had any experience like this. I’m putting little better than it was. So not even an hour I think we couldn’t stay there . So we left. Went stairs to check out. Didn’t even offer a refund. But wanted me to do a review. So we will keep this receipt in case we go back through that part of S.Carolina again. Don’t even consider it this place. Don’t waste 130.00 on a room. So not worth it one bit. So we left and drove and found somewhere else to stop. Beautiful,homey and clean. AD

Great experience due to Venky! Venky was exceptional! Very helpful and delightful. We stayed an extra night, choosing to stay at this Best Western during our travels because of his outstanding customer care. My comments are sincere, he was great. Thank you very much Venky!

Hidden Gem! Quietly tucked away This Best Western is off the beaten path enough to give you the feeling of seclusion, while being close enough to restaurants, gas station and access to the highway. Resuming your travels is fairly quick.
