Home away from home Please excuse this very long review. My family and I traveled to CA for my daughter to train at a few local badminton clubs. We had booked an AIRBNB in Newark CA after reading several reviews and doing my research. We landed at SFO after our flight from Boston, we were too early to check into our Airbnb. We decided to walk around Pier 39 near Ghirardelli square, a bustling area and in broad daylight. We parked at a meter for an hour, came back to a smashed car window and lots of our belongings gone. After filling out a police report, and exchanging the car for one with four windows, we attempted to check into our Airbnb. We arrived to find a complete dump, filthy dirty and the smell, I can't describe, never mind the used soap bars from the previous occupants. We called around to hotels that could accommodate us for 10 nights. We ended up at this Courtyard and we couldn't have been happier. The front desk, cleaning crew, management, the entire staff was helpful, friendly, competent and went out of their way for us. The place had laundry which was very convenient. Everything was clean from top to bottom, the beds were very comfortable and the rooms very spacious. There is a Target in the parking lot several minutes away so that made replacing necessary items very convenient. We felt very safe and it was convenient to jump on the highway from the hotel. I wish I could mention them all by name but Bryan was who we were introduced to for the initial reservation.

disappointed I've stayed here quite a few times. The front desk team is awesome and the rooms are clean but my recent experience with the restaurant just wasn’t great. One of our breakfast entrees were missing key ingredients that were listed on the menu (avacado, arugula lettuce, etc) and there was no sauce on it, so just a really dry breakfast sandwich with what looked like a hamburger bun. We called back down after receiving the order, was offered $10 off the order which we accepted. Looking at my bank account, I was still charged the full amount for the order. I didn’t want to leave this review because I truly love this hotel, but I’ve reached out to them via email and haven’t heard anything. I don’t want to waste time calling in for $10. I worked for Marriott for 7 years so I know this isn’t their standard. I will stay again but will stay clear of the restaurant if they cannot give you exactly what it says on the menu, and cannot follow through with their promises.

Quiet and Relaxing I spent three nights here while visiting friends in the area. My room was great. Very clean, with everything I needed. The staff was helpful and pleasant. Be advised that you are charged $7 for parking. I think it should be waived when there aren’t many people staying at the hotel. The parking lot was practically empty.

Typical Marriott but high price and not a great location for business travelers We stay at a lot of Marriotts while traveling on business, and this one was very similar in cleanliness and amenities. Everything worked fine and I had no issues during the stay. That being said, there were a few negatives. Service was OK, but not as friendly as other hotels we have stayed at. And the location is not ideal for a business traveler since you have to drive to get to a restaurant, and driving in this area is no picnic. Third, I have seen lots of people mention a "fair price", but booking just a few weeks in advance we payed $400/night which is a bit ridiculous. So if you can get a decent price and don't mind being in a spot that is a little out of the way, then this is a good choice.

Acceptable but horrid traffic Located in Fremont so the main thing you need to think about is traffic. Horrid traffic to any of the tech companies on 237 for example. Just horrid. Consider whether your savings are worth the extra time. Older property. No obvious signs its been updated recently. Older but acceptable bed. Insufficient covers with no weight to them. Scratchy towels. Decent tub, acceptable water pressure. Lots of room. Insufficient light. Power outlets only one per bed side which is insufficient. No issues with noise. Nice pillows. Softish bed. Lots of outlets by perfectly fine work desk. Largish mini fridge with small freezer section. Decent microwave. Wi-fi held up the whole time, even mid-evening when lots of places fall apart. Had some issues with streaming that went away once I kicked in my VPN. Wi-fi was free. $7 parking in this area seems ridiculous. Parking fees in Fremont now? Horrid. Anyways, lots of available parking all around the building, and multiple badged entries at least to the first floor/elevator. Quick and easy check in. Mini amenities store. Ice at bar. No ice machine on first floor that I could find.
