Great for a weekend getaway to Luray We stayed in a king suite with a mountain view after spending the day at Luray Caverns. The hotel is about a 35 min drive away, but is conveniently located near highway 66 and a lot of food options. We had kids on the trip and wanted a comfortable hotel with an indoor pool. Check-in was easy and it appears the hotel has recently been renovated because the rooms and interior don’t match the pictures on the hotel’s website. Everything is much nicer. The golf course looked nice but we didn’t use it. I chose a Mountain View room, but after having stayed there I would pick a golf course view because Mountain View comes with parking lot in the foreground. The room was spacious and nice. The bed was comfortable and being able to close the bedroom door and still use the sitting room and bathroom is ideal for those traveling with kiddos that go to bed early. The only cons I would note is that there is no dresser or drawers of any kind in which to put clothes and the bathroom door opens in a way that makes it difficult to have the door open and share the sink. We’re pretty small people, but the shower seems like it might be tight for anyone needing more space. The pool was great and popular and we ate dinner and breakfast at the Houlihans on site which was super convenient.

Disappointed with the room We stayed here to attend a wedding and stayed form Thursday afternoon through Sunday. We booked at a group rate, which was not that much lower than what we could have gotten through a travel site. Not a big deal, but for the price, I was disappointed with the room. When we got to our room, there was hair on the bathroom floor and in the shower. The toilet ran all night, which I finally fixed by fixing the chain on the handle. Our room was not cleaned or serviced on Friday or Saturday, even though I hung out the door tag for service. The carpet had not been thoroughly vacuumed, because I found pieces of potato chips and a bobby pin on the floor. The staff was super nice and accommodating, so that's why I gave three stars. But I probably wouldn't stay there again.

Not the best.. Didn’t have the best experience. Had to change room due to high levels of dust. In our other suite, there was debris all over the floor, and units thick with dust. Family were awoken by Raymond on the day of check out, quizzing us why we were there although we had late check out confirmed. I think he thinks he own the hotel, as apparently all late check out “need his approval”. Hilton needs to sack the guy ASAP, and move him to a Red Roof Inn. No customer service skills at all! After raising it with his management chain, it’s apparent this isn’t an isolated incident. No idea why he is still there.

unsure Amazing staff, very friendly and helpful. Super knowledgeable. When we arrived, there were a plethora of men in front smoking and drinking beer. We aren't opposed to either, but walking through the cloud and seeing the dozens of beer bottles was a bit uncomfortable. Currently under renovations, but you couldn't really tell. A great location.

Double Tree slipped a little this time... This is the second year in a row that we stayed here at this DoubleTree. I purposely went back because of the great experience that we had last year. Not as much this year unfortunately... Our room was not cleaned after the first night and the shower gel bottles (attached to the shower wall) were empty and you had to use the small bar of soap for both the sink and the shower. Also the coffee machine was missing the piece that holds the pods from the free packs of coffee/tea that are there. You can still make hot beverages by placing the pods directly in your cup and having the boiling drip into your cup, so it's not a total loss, but an inconvenience that needs to be resolved. I am not sure who serviced the room BEFORE we arrived, but these things should have been checked out by the staff and resolved before the next guest arrived and assigned to that particular room. I would have expected better from DoubleTree so I am bit disappointed with this recent stay.
