Great weekend visit I am pretty picky about hotels and stayed here based on reviews. Everything was clean and nice. No complaints really. I didn't see a room safe which I would have preferred but not a huge deal. I did pick based on an outdoor pool and slide for the kids which was nice. The fire pits are fun but fill up quickly in the evenings. Putt-putt course next door was fun and convenient. Also big perk was being out of the Gatlinburg congestion.

Room 327 We had a reservation for two nights, Sat 7-24 and Sun 7-25-21. We changed it to just one night after our experience. Lobby was clean and staff (Mason) was friendly, so that was not the issue. The problem was the room. Room 327 if I recall correctly. First of all, we had 3 out of 4 key cards not work when we tried to unlock the door. We were later told that the battery in the door lock probably needed to be replaced. Upon opening the door, we were greeted with the overwhelming musty smell of a damp basement. When we went to the front desk to ask if we could switch rooms, we were told that everything but one room with a king bed was booked. We explained that was not going to work with four people, so the front desk person reached under their desk and brought out a spray bottle of commercial grade air freshener and we were told to spray that several times to remove the smell. We did and that remedy lasted about an hour. The next issue was that the bulb on the nightstand was burned out, so we tried to change that bulb with a freestanding lamp bulb that worked and discovered both spider webs and a trail of live ants by the base of the lamp. So, I went back to the front desk, got a new bulb and the person at the front desk (never got their name) grabbed a pressure sprayer with ant spray. Yes, they had it already for this issue. The last issue was hair in the tub from prior guests. That grosses me out more than anything. We dealt with the issues for one night and checked out the following day. We have had in the past, a good experience with this hotel (when it was Fairfield Inn), thus booking here again, but we would definitely not consider this place our first choice the next time we visit Gatlinburg. Additionally, the charge for this experience ($320.00) was an exorbitant amount to pay for just one night and was never reduced even though all the problems were reported to staff.

Best on the main road The hotel is very busy. Nice outdoor sitting areas. We stayed on first floor. It was unbelievably quiet in our room. Loved the big clean room. Great not to have carpet in the room. Ordered take out pizza. Took 1 hour for delivery. The restaurants and shopping in the area was very much like a carnival setting. Stayed only one night after a great visit to the smoky mountains. Definitely not a small town feel
