Candlewood Suites Gillette by IHG

Cannot believe this is associated w/ IHG label- SKIP IT I cannot believe someone has ever given this place a rating higher than a 1. 1. They don’t have bottled water available for purchase. In a town you can’t drink the tap water. 2. Fine. Where’s the ice machine and we’ll boil down the ice. Oh, they don’t have that either. Their suggestion was to turn on the ice machine in your freezer, so you’d maybe have some ice by the time you check out tomorrow (why would this not be left on in every room if you don’t have an ice machine?). 3. Our neighbors are on meth, so that gives you a sense of the clientele. 4. The sheets are scratchy like gravelly cardboard. 5. The phone in the room doesn’t worked. It wasn’t even plugged in, and after doing so, it still doesn’t work. 6. No breakfast. But you can purchase cereal from their store. But there’s no milk, either. So you can raw dog some cereal for breakfast. 7. They don’t answer the front desk phone despite having 2 workers (so I guess it doesn’t matter your room phone doesn’t work). We called 3x before they picked up, at 8:45pm.

Very low on supplies Our reservation for for either 2 queen beds or a king. We got one queen. It had a kitchenette with 2 of everything, 2 spoons, two cups, etc. Most everything was still in the dishwasher. There was no sugar for the coffee. No ice in the entire building. In the bathroom, only soap, no lotion. It seemed clean enough but we won’t be back.

I recommend the Holiday Inn 5+ years ago I used to stay at this hotel a week month. I had terrible service from the manager and checked out, and I've been staying at the Holiday Inn ever since. I made a mistake and accidentally booked a room at the candlewood again. I requested a room away from elevators and away from the first floor. They gave me the room on the first floor across from the elevators. I requested a different room. I was then told there was no other rooms available. dejavu I said that I was not interested and would stay at a different hotel. Magically a room on the third floor away from elevators opened up. The hotel has gone downhill. Common areas and hallways are not very clean all the carpet is stained. The room is clean. Seems there was an issue with my credit card, not sure why I have one on file and I gave my credit card to the girl when I checked in. So instead of anyone phoning me to let me know there was an issue they just cancelled my hotel room key. so, after hauling all of my equipment and stuff up to my room, only to find out my hotel key didn't work I was not impressed. Even more not impressed when I waited downstairs for 15 minutes for someone to answer who is in the next room. only to find out my card was cancelled because they had a credit card issue. I suggested next time they call someone instead of cancelling the room key.

Disappointed in management response Booked based on reviews. Room was not thoroughly cleaned with personal items left from previous guest and table had food spots and water rings. Empty shower bottles. Could not get a receipt when called twice. Email did not come with two email addresses. Manager said I should have taken pictures, certainly had an attitude and did not apologize. Don’t stay here. There are other choices

Carl and Sheila Kierra Bulkley and Crystal Cundall run a great hotel. You feel like your at home when you are over a 1000 miles away. The rooms are super clean an up to date. Beds are very comfortable. The staff is super super friendly. The pantry is well stocked and has a wide variety of foods for that late night or early morning snack. This is one of the best IHG hotel chains I have stayed at. Thank you guys for a great stay and we will be back.
