Superb Experience I have been to many hotels with Spa’s in the UK and in Europe and therefore naturally compare experiences. I needed some ‘time out’ so booked an afternoon in the SPA with an overnight stay. Yes the rooms are a little dated but exceptionally clean, spacious and bed was comfy . I slept so well after my SPA afternoon. Every member of staff I liaised with were a credit to the hotel … from the Reception, Restaurant, Spa and most especially the Therapist that carried out the ‘chakra’ massage on me. I have never had such an experience like this - Ibrana has an amazing skill and clearly loves what she does as her massage reflected this. Nothing was too much trouble for any member of staff - and yes I tested them lol …. Food was great in the restaurant for lunch ( chicken and sweet corn soup ) and evening meal ( steak and bloomin lovely chunky chips ! ) . The most valuable assets in any business should be the staff and Gomersal appears to of recruited very well ! I’ll be back !!

Fresh orange run out hot water run out what an absolut shambles staff disappearing tables left with dirty plates. Under staffed. Now this is not a cheap hotel but its run on a cheap budget. Staff make this hotel (that has so much potential) Yes we read the reviews and I have to say those reviews are not accurate (in our experience). We stayed the night, with the Mud Rasul spa experience, and had the best time. Yes the rooms do need updating but they’re not dirty or filthy and had everything we needed. The bathroom needs attention to detail. The spa was great, shout out to Steph who was just all round ace and a good vibe. It wasn’t crowded or anything. It was so chill. The receptionist (i didn’t catch her name) but she wore glasses and she is asian was literally amazing! She was so polite, thoughtful and a great representation of Gomersal. We will be back again!

Mixed feelings depending on what you want We attended Gomersal on an afternoon spa retreat. We had full access to the spa facilities and a 50 minute treatment (back massage & facial), before heading to the restaurant for afternoon tea. The spa facilities are clean, accessible and as promised all things complimentary were included. Our treatments were amazing, the therapists paid attention and took their time. Would highly recommend them both for those treatments. However, the afternoon tea was overwhelmingly horrendous and massively disappointing. Advertised as afternoon tea for two is ridiculous, and in all honesty we felt like it was embarrassing that they served this. We was given 4 ham finger sandwiches & 2 cucumber and cheese sandwiches, 3 scones that were hard and dry and 4 very small pieces of cake - 2 lemon , 1 coffee and half of a vanilla slice. The “pastries” were two cold, clearly shop bought party sausages roles that looked like they had been thrown on at the last minute. The selection was appalling and it is by far one of the worst afternoon teas we have had. We were very upset that our day finished that way, especially with how much we had paid.

Could be better Booked a Groupon stay for my birthday, overall, it was average. A few things to note: If you book a Groupon, beware the wording "Pool & Poolside Thermals" use DOES NOT MEAN ACCESS TO STEAM ROOM ETC. They mean "Pool and Poolside Sauna". This is very misleading in my opinion. It seems like a very complex system. Price on display in the spa said £50, but upon looking at the website, hotel gests in September are meant to get a 50% discount- I am pretty sure the spa staff did not know this. Different coloured bands to indicate which guest type you are - I feel sorry for the staff there. It would be better, if, when checking in you were offered the option to upgrade to full spa access for a reduced price, then you knew what you had included. The description on Groupon should definitely be changed, as it feels like the hotel is trying to trick you. The Spa, in fairness is excellent and the lady on duty (she was on her own and run off her feet!) was very helpful. very surprised that you could take drinks in (plastic glasses, obviously!) The gym is rubbish. Very small, very old or cheap equipment. Treadmills are dangerous, the belt is so worn it is slippy. I couldn't use it, I would say that is an accident waiting to happen. Rooms are OK, good size but not very clean. I bent down to pick something up when drying my hair and under the desk was thick with dust - this made us look all around the edges, the hoover has not seen the edge of that carpet for some time! No information in the room, I heard the receptionist tell the man in front of us at check-in that you could get room service, but no menu in the room and no info about check-out etc. Breakfast was very nice, lots of it and quality food. Friendly staff throughout, but they seem to be short-staffed. Not sure if it is under new management, as it looks like they are spending some money on the public areas at the moment. Need some attention to detail re cleaning and some more thought on the Spa access situation!!
