Great experience for our daughters Christening We had our daughter’s christening function at The Gomersal Park Hotel in the Oakwell Suit. Imogen organised everything for us and she was perfect from the start right up to the day itself, she was so helpful and pleasant and I would definitely recommend. On the day the staff were amazing, we were completely looked after and all the family had such a lovely day. I will definitely be going back for future events.

Afternoon Tea Purchased a Groupon Voucher for Sparkling Afternoon Tea which seemed to be exceptional value. I can see why it was on Groupon and I can see why it was so cheap as the Service was very much lacking. The food was ok. On arrival, the bar had not been set up and a poor girl seemed to be running round trying to do everything on her own. It must have taken 20-30 minutes to get a drink and sit down. I was first in the queue so you can imagine the people behind me were getting pretty impatient. Anyway I wasn't in a rush and could feel her pain so waited patiently and then went to sit on the terrace in the sunshine. Once my friend arrived, she went in to get a drink from the bar, again had the same issue, she also requested our Afternoon Tea to be brought out too. Again there was quite a long wait for this but because we both had a drink and the sun was shining it wasn't too much of an issue. Although by the time it arrived we'd finished our drinks but made no attempt to try and get another drink from the bar. Food was ok but wouldn't have been happy paying the full price for it, if you get a Groupon voucher it is worth a try but expect to wait.

"Abysmal" afternoon tea experience. We had afternoon tea purchased as a birthday gift and really looked forward to the experience. What a complete let down! No staff around to welcome us, eventually shown to a table and confirmed tea rather than coffee which arrived promptly as did the loosely entitled "afternoon tea" which was unceremoniously dumped on the table. No effort had been made around presentation, what was on the stand was of a poor standard with a distinct lack of filling in the sandwiches and the scones were dry. The glass of prosecco never appeared nor did anyone from the hotel come to check if everything was ok, perhaps he was averse to hearing our comments. We made the decision to leave at which point I did speak to a member of staff and made our feelings known. We were then offered an apology and a glass of prosecco - not good enough by a long way! I was going to head the review "terrible" but I consider "abysmal" more fitting.

Spa break Lovey spa weekend. Rooms were nice and the staff lovely and helpful. The sap was fantastic. It wasn’t too busy and we booked treatments. The spa was clean and we were able to access it all easily. We booked food in the restaurant, great choice and again lovely staff.

Don’t bother. Just not really nice….Went for Sunday dinner. Booked for 3.30pm Restaurant was pretty empty. Lots of tables with dirty plates that were waiting to be cleared. They were left there the whole time we were sat eating. Not a very nice view. Meat was plenty-full but tough - like “old boot”. No one checked on us to see if everything was ok. We asked to take our meat home (for the dog) and was given 2 small paper bags to sort it ourselves.
