Baseball team/Family Approved! We are a baseball team of 15 and 16-year-old boys. We normally get anywhere from 18 to 22 rooms and these people were so amazing. The breakfast was fresh. The rooms were clean, but the overall thing that impressed us was the Staff! Everyone was so nice and so helpful. They are doing some renovations.

Not what I expect from Hampton Inn. Like others have stated, the service is great but the rooms themselves are rather worn and ratty. The carpet in our room had a noticeable musty/dusty odor and was dark from years of stains. There were other issues as well like the shower having mold in it. The shower head also had issues as the retaining collar had come loose from the wall and was just dangling there. There are lots of mismatched painted areas on the walls. There were also drill holes in the furniture--it was still functional, just shoddy looking. The refrigerator was tiny. For the price we paid, I would certainly expect better. It was the most expensive hotel in the area during the time we stayed there. We've been to about 10 different Hampton Inns and had always had a good experience until this one. This experience has soured us on the brand. We could have spent half as much and stayed in something similar. Overall, very disappointing for the money.

This Hampton location in Guntersville,Al not recommended. I always stay at Hampton Inns. Just usually enjoy the locations but when my wife and I arrived at the Hampton Inn in Guntersville,AL we were immediately shocked at the condition of this particular location. First of all, the hotel is really in need of an update. Our room was on the second floor which had a very bad odor. My wife said like magic marker but for me it was like the entire floor was a smoking section. I have asthma and it triggered an attack once I got into the room. I had my meds and got better. The carpets in the hallway were very stained and grungy and the wallpaper was peeling everywhere. I felt like this was a Motel 6 instead of a Hilton brand. And the room…well there was mildew on the caulking in the bathtub and there was well all I can describe as possible dried bodily fluids on a painting next to the bed. I reported it before checkout because that is when I discovered it. At checkout I asked if there was any compensation I could get for a dirty room since Hampton has a 100%satisfaction guarantee. I was only offered a $10 Subway gift card. No refund or anything like that. Very disappointed. The only reason I didn’t give a one star rating in this review is because the breakfast was decent. Sound really carries and there were loud noises from other patrons in the hallway that were very easily heard in the room. As a Hilton Honors member I cannot recommend this place until significant repairs and renovation occurs.

Hampton Inn unwilling to be flexible. Made a mistake and booked a room in Guntersville instead of Scottsboro. It was late and we didn't want to drive forty more minutes. I realize it was my mistake but Orbitz said that they will sometimes waive the charge for the night but they did not. We ended up staying at the Comfort Inn in Scottsboro. The Comfort Inn gave us a discounted rate when we told them that we had already paid for a night at the Hampton Inn. They were surprised that the Hampton wasn't willing to make a concession. Stay at the Comfort Inn instead of the Hampton Inn. They are much more accommodating.

Keep driving to albertville. Don’t stop here My husband works in Guntersville periodically, so this was our 2nd stay at this Hampton. When we stayed there the first time last year, we thought it was pretty bad..outdated and grungy. The next time we traveled to this area for work, we stayed down the road in Albertville at a brand new Hampton Inn. It was great and the lady at the front desk mentioned that they should be finishing up their renovations at the Hampton in Guntersville. So on our third trip back to this area, we decided to give this Hampton at Guntersville another chance, because it’s closer to my husband’s job. I didn’t see any signs of renovation and it was just as gross and old as before. Our room smelled like a wet dog and there were spots all over the carpet. The chair was so stained and dirty, I told our kids not to touch it. This location is so great and it’s really a shame this place can’t be nicer. Breakfast was a big let down too.
