Bed bugs? I guess I'll never know. Our experience at the hotel was pretty good, it was after that left me with a bad taste. We checked out on a Friday and that Sunday I noticed small, red, itchy bumps. They looked very much like what could be bed bug bites. My daughter also developed these bites in a similar pattern. I filled out the form they have on line for reporting issues. I got a call several days later asking for more information on the situation. Before hanging up they said someone would be in touch soon. A few more days go by and no one had reached out. So I called - first of all, the auto-attendant is terrible and getting to the actual hotel is difficult and time consuming. Once I finally got through I was transferred to the safety manager/assistant pool director and received her voicemail, every single time I called. To this day I have not heard back from her. I tried another time to get in touch with a different manager, was placed on hold and the call was disconnected. I wasn't accusing the hotel of having bed bugs, I just wanted to have them check so I would know if I needed to do anything with our luggage so I didn't bring bed bugs home. We were hoping to make this an annual tradition for our family. While the stay itself was fun and memorable, I don't know if we will be returning due to the terrible/lack there of customer service.

Watch out -rides unsafe Watch out for the rides… you get hurt, Great Wolf Lodge ignores you!!!I I took my granddaughter for her birthday and on my first ride, the Tornado, shot us out of the funnel backwards and hit the back of my head directly into a concrete wall. I told a life guard at the time and as not to make a big ordeal on my granddaughter’s birthday, continued to go on rides. However, as the day progressed, I got a terrible headache and have had one every day since August 26 and I rarely get headaches I also reported it to the Heath and safety manager who took notes with a promise someone would get back to me in 24-48 hours. I did not get a call and I called back 5 days later to an AI agent that viciously recycled my call to reservations. I finally lied and said I wanted to rent a cabana to get a person on the phone. That worked. Finally was given a name and number to call with extension to call, but when I called, I was directed to the same number with NO option to punch in an extension. I have emailed a dozen times, called at least a half dozen to get a response that someone will contact me in 24 -48 hours, then no response. I emailed and called again to get an email that it would be 72 hours. Then no response. Emailed and called again and was told they escalated my case with no time frame. It has been almost a month and just emailed again and the number they provided sent me to a voicemail that I finally figured out how to contact, stated that is full and not accepting calls. At the time of my accident, I should have made a big scene, threaten to sue but that is not the person I am. However, I am not one to be ignored. I have medical bills for this and just want to be compensated in some way to cover those bills and perhaps reimburse me for our one night stay. I don’t think that is asking too much. They really should have a safety and customer service section because they would get ZERO stars. UNSAFE - STAY AWAY UNSAFE - STAY AWAY I had over $300 in charges made against my card after we left the resort. Likely someone fished my wrist band out of the trash, taped it together, and walked around buying things. I would suggest not attaching a card to the band, but if you do, take the band home with you. I called the resort & after waiting on hold for over 13-minutes, they told me they would call me back in 72-hours. The person I spoke with was unable to do anything & told me there was nothing anyone else could do. For a family who has spent thousands of dollars at these resorts it was a disappointing experience. We wont be back. ***After going back and forth with them over email, 16-days later there is no response and that charges remain on my card.

So dirty. If you’re thinking of coming— go to traverse city instead. Disgusting. Three years ago we stayed at this location, and it was ok— not as nice as Traverse City. Three years later.. it is a dump bin mortified and I can’t even believe I am sleeping here but I can’t make my kids leave. They are too excited. When we arrived, it was a huge nightmare in the lobby. They used to have characters or little picture spots in the lobby to entertain the kids while at check-in. Now they have a Hilton sales person instead. The people checking you in move pretty slowly, so they put up several tablets for self check in. You need to have your id and a matching credit card. There was a surprise $19/ night parking fee. There are other GWL that have parking fees listed— not this one. We went to the water park because our room wasn’t ready. It was so horrifying and disgusting— I couldn’t take a picture of it. Every single stall in the bathroom was over flowing with bloody tampons and poopy diapers. There was trash all over inside the bathroom and in the water park. There were no chairs and no where to put your stuff. I got to my room, and ordered the birthday package. They don’t give you a cake— you get a coupon for a cake. The balloons are not inflated and just sit on the table. Everything is the room wasn’t old and tired and used up. Paint is rubbed off of everything in the room and throughout the hotel. The carpet is stained. Behind the pillows in the bed it’s all crusty and gross right by your head. The pillows are pitiful and limp. Look, they offered me to leave and give me a full refund, but I already drove 3 hours and my kids are too excited about the water park to go back. I checked the bed but I pray I don’t bring home bed bugs. Great wolf lodge used to feel like they were competition for Disney— but on Disney’s worst day they wouldn’t be this bad. This hotel is desperate for cleaning and maintenance.
