Look elsewhere - you’ll have a better stay Tired, old, not clean, staff not helpful. They seemed indifferent to me as a guest. Had to wait to check in while staff vaped outside. Smelled like pot. The price may look attractive but the service and quality of the hotel is less than adequate.

Horrible hotel in need of renovation and poor management not concerned about guests I booked reservations in July 2022 for two nights in May 2023. Fortunately I had a printed confirmation as when I arrived at the hotel Friday at 3:30 p.m.the computers were down and I was told I did not have a reservation. I presented my printed confirmation and was reluctantly given a key by the manager and was told to return later that evening to sign the check-in papers. The room was deplorable! Lamps were not working, wallpaper was ripped and hanging from the wall next to the air conditioner, there was a big black chip in the bathub, a double towel rack was missing the bottom rack but the hardware was in the wall, paint was chipped and there were large white spots in many places that should have been painted orange. Fortunately the bed checked out though I would not walk barefoot on the rugs. When I returned later in the evening I was given papers to sign but was not given a copy. Breakfast both mornings was missing fruit and cream cheese and when I ask the attendant she was very apologetic and said they had had no deliveries in two days. I returned to my room about 5:00 Saturday evening to find that my room had not been cleaned. I met a maintenance man in the hallway who though said it was not his job, he cared about the guests and wanted to make sure everyone was satisfied, He came into the room, collected the trash and dirty towels and brought me clean ones. He also told me that the rooms are only cleaned every three days unless requested daily as there were only three housekeepers in the entire hotel. Evidently this information was in the check-in papers which I did not have and there were no signs in the room or elsewhere on the property indicating this policy. As he was leaving he directed the night manager to my room. He, too, was very apologetic and was going down to the front desk to have them give me a discount. Check-out time on Sunday was a disaster. The front desk clerk was very nasty, did not know anything about a discount and asked me why I thought I should get a discount. I asked for the manager and was told he was not there and I got his name. An email was sent directly to the manager, Brian Moore, including a hard copy mailed that same day. It is now two weeks since contact was made and I have not heard from him. Do not under any circumstances stay at this hotel ! I paid almost $400 for two nights at a below standard hotel. My next contact is to the Choice Hotels Corporate Office. The Clarion Hotel and Suites is an insult and embarrassment to the chain.

Filthy and Not as Described We booked this on Expedia and everything was incorrect! The rooms were filthy, hairs in the tub and floor and furniture in bad shape. We asked for our rooms to be cleaned but they told us they have a 3 day policy and only 2 housekeepers. We especially requested it and they promised, but never did our 3 nights. They list it with daily housekeeping. It is dirty and save your money for a better place. Choice Hotels are independently run and franchised and quality is lacking. I will never stay at this one again.

Avoid this hotel until it is renovated, cleaned, and gets security upgrades. We stayed at this hotel for one night because my son had some friends from college over and we gave them space. We searched for hotels with pools and spas. This one claimed to have one but when we checked in, the pool was out of order. In fact, it has been out of order for months. So they claim it as an amenity but based on the rest of the hotel, it os cheaper to just let it be broken. The rest of the hotel smells musty and the floors are sticky. Lower floor rooms have inside and outside doors but the doors to the outside do not close well. The single pull down curtain does not close the light from the parking lot out of the room. Our tv is broken and a man has been in and out of our room for an hour trying to get it to work. It has been a terrible experience and we are only 2 hours in. Pray for us.

At Least I Slept Okay So, the staff were friendly and competent, and I did sleep fine in the bed. But there's a good reason this hotel was the least expensive in the area: they couldn't get people to stay if it weren't. * The remote control for the AC/Heat unit was SUPER fancy, but it didn't come with instructions and it obviously had defeated the last guest. Though set for 85, the room was only in the low 50's when I arrived. It took me about 15 minutes to figure out how to set it to a reasonable temp. * All the shades on the lamps had rips. The electrical outlets in their bases didn't work. * There was a curtain covering a glass wall to the hallway, but it didn't block all the light. Likewise, for no reason I could see, there was a narrow window to the outdoors high up on the wall next to the bathroom. It had venetian blinds that couldn't be properly closed, so bright morning light fell through RIGHT where my eyes were when in the bed. * No safety bar in the proper place for the shower, and no non-slip anything. * No telephone in the room, so if I wanted to speak to the front desk, I had to go there. * The room wasn't cleaned and the bed wasn't made after my first night (of two).
