Clarion Pointe Harrisonburg

First time at Clarion Point Harrisonburg A very nice stay at a modern, well kept hotel. Front desk and staff were friendly and helpful. Room was clean, and in good order. I would have given it a 5 rating except for a small problem. We left an item behind, not an expensive item like a laptop or cell phone. It was a pillow and pillow case. When I called about it, the front desk said they had the item and used Ileftmystuff.com for returning items left behind. Long story short, the cheapest I could get the item returned was $107.00! Our fault for leaving it behind, but the fee for getting it returned is exorbitant! Advice to fellow travelers - DON'T LEAVE ANYTHING BEHIND!

Excellent stay Very pleased with this hotel. Right off hwy 81. Amazing morning breakfast with attendant Debbie to assist. Very clean and many choices in the buffet. Romm was spacious and clean. Free coffee tea and hot chocolate all day. Would stay again for sure

Pet friendly does not convey it's a dog kennel I booked a room at this property and stayed here in early July. Was pleased with my accommodations. Returned on July 19, booking through Hotel.com. Upon arrival, I was assigned a room that I found smelled like a dog kennel, and noticed both beds were attached to the wall at in a manner that placed the head lower than the foot of the bed. The corridor outside the room was flooded, but passable. I returned to the front desk to advise the room I had been assigned is unacceptable, not fit for human habitation. I was given a room key to the room directly next to the first. I proceeded to that room, to find the odor equally similar to a kennel, and actually cut my leg on the bedframe that extended beyond the foot of the bed into the room. I returned to the front desk and was advised the only other room I could be assigned was upstairs, at substantially higher cost. I declined that offer and advised I would continue to Staunton, Va and would not be paying for a room which was not fit for people who did not own the dog they were boarding with. He indicated that he would take care of the cancellation. He did not. I phoned Hotel.com when I discovered I'd been charged for the room I did not use, and I telephoned the Clarion desk and reiterated the above sequence of events. I was told that it was not uncommon for arriving guests to reject these "pet friendly" rooms upon arrival and experiencing the powerful smell of dog. I was told that the manager would have to intervene to advise Hotel.com that the charges placed against my account should be cancelled. Hotel.com sent me a text message advising the hotel had refused to cancel the charges and it was beyond their capacity to intervene. My message to all who consider this property, don't do business with unscrupulous people who don't have the integrity to be truthful or maintain their property in a manner fit for human habitation. This place literally stinks.

Just stay here!! No issues at all. Clean, quiet, nice pool and breakfast. Staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. There is no elevator to the second level, but fortunately there were first floor rooms available. Several things to mention, the breakfast offers waffles, fruit, yogurt, real scrambled eggs, ham, sausage and more. The entire property is clean and updated, TVs are big, and the beds are Heavenly comfortable- we will definitely return.

Nice place. Please read if staying in the area. Nice place, good breakfast. Very nice staff. Would highly recommend. Word of advice,do NOT stay at Days inn across the street, Awful smell in smoking and non smoking buildings with holes in the walls. Very rude staff.
