Luxury is fun when nobody else is there Honestly, I don’t think 20 rooms were taken. The front desk staff learned our names and always referred to us by it. Nice people who seemed to appreciate we were there. The restaurants were closed because of COVID but their pantry was open as was room service. Both were decent and did the trick. Got a corner room. Beautiful views on two sides which was amazing. I will only stay here in Hartford again.

Safety and Danger concern SAFETY CONCERNS-MARRIOTT-HARTFORD DOWNTOWN My wife and I were at the Hartford Marriott Downtown in Hartford, Ct on August 7, 2021. After getting the food to go back to our room, we were in the elevator and pressed floor 16 (our floor). Before the doors completely shut, some man stuck his arm in the middle of the doors to get on the elevator. I asked him what floor and he looked at the panel where the numbers are which he said 16 as well. We believe he didn’t say a word until he saw which floor was already pressed. Extremely quiet and uneasy feeling in the elevator with him staring at the floor. When the door opened, I insisted he got off first. He slowly walked out of the elevator and stood next to the other elevators grabbing his phone acting as if he needed to use it. My wife and I walked down to the left side of the hall where our room was. He immediately got right behind my wife. She immediately said we forgot something downstairs and I turned around to see him very close to her. We turned around to go back the other way toward the elevators in which he followed as well. I kept eye contact with him the way back around and asked him what room was he looking for. He said he was looking for his key and didn’t know what room he was in. I immediately got my wife back on the elevator to go downstairs to alert security. After about ten minutes, we see the same man coming down with security and looked like he was asked to leave. I can tell you for sure the incident was extremely unsettling. My wife would not leave the hotel room the rest of the evening/night and wanted out of the hotel early the next morning. She never felt safe. We are sure that the man shouldn’t have been there! If he was there to rob us, or worse hurt us and got into our room there is no way anyone would know until the next day when obviously it would have been too late. Allan Miller, director of operations for the hotel did call me. He shared with me that they conducted an investigation and that is all he can say. I asked Mr. Miller numerous times to be allowed to see the footage of the security video which he denied every time. Mr. Miller did state that his recommendation for me and my wife is to not get off the elevator if we ever feel uncomfortable again. Mr. Miller also shared that they conducted an investigation. I am confused-completing an investigation without talking to us? Mr. Miller shared he interviewed us when we came down and notified security about a man in the elevator. Mr. Miller never talked to us at all about what transpired up on the 16th floor. His investigation was done and completed within 5-10 minutes because he escorted the man out of the hotel. ABSOLUTELY NO WAY HE CONDUCTED A THOROUGH INVESTIGATION OF TALKING TO US, NOR BEING ABLE TO OBSERVE VIDEO PRIOR TO ALLOWING HIM TO LEAVE. NO POLICE WERE CALLED. The hotel did immediately get the man. Mr. Miller refused to let me know if the man had a knife, or a gun. He kept giving the pact corporate answer of they conducted an investigation and that is all he can share. Mr. Miller has made it clear to me that I will not be given an opportunity to observe the security footage and that they conducted their investigation. I wrote my concern to customer care of Marriott. Susan V. , Marriott Bonvoy customer care shared for me to convey her apology to my wife and that this was an isolated incident. (without being interviewed, and without knowing anything about the conducted investigation how are we to know this was an isolated incident). I politely requested Corporate to call my wife which they have not to this point. Previous loyal customer of Marriott. Joe McCracken Marriott thanks for the worse night I can ever recall in a hotel.

Good downtown option We enjoyed our stay at the Marriott downtown. The location was convenient and the staff were helpful. You have to pay extra for parking, which is also part of the convention center. We had a nice view and although the hotel restaurants were closed, there were option within walking distance.

Lousy hotel; avoid We stayed there one night for few hours as possible in October. I tried it even though they reduced me from a suite to a regular room without telling me (they did compensate me). The hotel suite we had this time was old, small, very dusty, and smelled badly--not what I expected based on the pics and some the reviews. We left as soon as we could. The front desk person late at night was unfriendly and unhelpful, though the front desk manager in the morn was the opposite. Wasn't Covid-friendly, either, beyond the poor air quality--insufficient sanitizing wipes around. I have Marriott Ambassador status, meaning I stay in a lot of hotels, and this was one of the worst. We need to stop in CT every so often and we'll be avoiding this hotel.

wont be back here we stayed here and it was bad, the shower didnt work right, the room service was too expensive, no one was at the parking lot, you had to pay at the ticket machine then there was no one at the gate so we didnt have to pay the $20 parking if i knew the gate was open. no microwave, and the pillows were terrable.
